i took her 345 rounds, 4 separate range occasions, and close to a month since first round fired… i couldn’t take it anymore and cleaned it back to seemingly new. not a single ftf or issue of any kind. AK wins… my heart.

yes its phosphate and will probably rust if you don’t regularly maintenance it… gf3 has the best barrel and the gf5 with gf3 barrel was probably the best model …only in my opinion of course only willing to run american ak, like when the market got mad at people who figured out how to farm caviar because the worth of their bs was greatly at risk, you can try to convince me not to drink a coors light but won’t be very successful if you’re offering me a white claw. GF3 is for low maintenance high volume shooters again only imo.

I am very happy with the performance and finish of everything I have bought from PSA. I would think myself just lucky because there ā€œseemsā€ to be problems for some, but I heard through the grapevine that PSA last year did 1.2 billion dollars in gross sales. That’s a lot of customers and a lot of guns, so they must be doing things pretty well. One big draw to the PSA akms, is their incredible variety to choose from. A person can pretty much just pick one and not have to charge a thing.

Why does the 3 have the best barrel? Not even sure of the differences between the 3 4 and 5. Im pretty much ak illiterate but im really wanting to get one.

My dudes, it’s literally spelled out for us in the pinned thread right above this pinned thread.

Now please decipher it for me and report back because after 3 sentences my attention span drifts off to ponies and and house paint colors…

GF3
Nitrided 4150 CMV barrel M14x1LH Made by DC Machine

GF4
PSA CHF/CL barrel M14 x 1LH threads by DC Machine

GF5
FN barrel M14x1LH CHF/CL Machine Gun Steel

Which is a better barrel?

Edit: I see the GF4 gets the EPT trigger and the GF5 gets the ALG trigger. So that gradually gets better.

They come in stock, they go fast.

Admonished

There is no break room.

Supply and demand

PSA has multiple sister companies and multiple manufacturing facilities. They sell everything they make. The initial jakl release sold out in less than 2 minutes…demand is just that high.

The GF3 - GF5 are all good barrels but the GF5 is best. CHF/CL means: cold hammer forged/ chrome lined. CHF barrels are largely considered the best due to longevity under heavy firing conditions. Chrome lining helps steel resist corrosion. The GF5 barrels are made by FN, a well renowned firearms manufacturer with excellent CHF barrels.

Lets get this back on the topic which is pictures.

nitride… and the gf5 has best trigger… i will always vote for nitride i prefer easy maintenance, corrosion resistance, and someone tried saying something about accuracy but tbh i don’t think i would notice a difference in accuracy so im really all about the easy cleaning.

This one is a century CETME. I’ve been thinking of a PTR myself.

Painted another mag tonight so i have 2 painted now.
