Nice .
That pin is similar to a door hinge……it should be an easy removal……just turn the 103 upside down and use a punch to gently tap the pin out about a 1/4 inch. After that you will feel it “release”……and you should be able to use your fingers to remove it. It goes back in by hand……except the last 1/4 inch……where the pin is “gripped” and you will have to use a punch to tap it back “home”.
BTW………Good looking AK !
This is one of the reasons why I really love AK’s. They are like 1911’s or Harley Davidson Motorcycles. People tend to customize them to their own unique style. And although many guys have the same model AK……each one will probably be as different as each individual owner. ……Next year I might want a different AK ….no need to buy another one……just a change in furniture. Making AK’s Great Again ! …….and again …….and again
Yea…I beat this thing to hell and that pin didn’t budge lol. Hitting from the bottom up, stock 1/2 folded and nada. Actually started bending the trunion
It should release……it shouldn’t have to be hit so hard that it may bend.
Move the hinge to different angles.
I would try heat…place the bottom corner of the hinge (trunion portion) over the flame on your stove top. Heat for about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and let the heat sink for about the time it takes to set the 103 upside down……hinge open. It should “release”. Make sure your punch is very slender….even though the pin is thick 4.5 mm……the portion that is “gripped” in the bottom of the hinge is very thin……so using a thin punch is necessary. Good light and a magnifying glass (especially for my old eyes) is also helpful. Good luck
Finally got permission from the crown this week and had my own hinge pin adventure. The bulgarian triangle needed some filing to latch smooth but its awesome now. Printed my own furniture because why not. Have an ALG trigger and a new muzzle, but there’s time to do that later. First mag downrange and it was worth the wait. Such a great little shooter.
Only a few left, great Michigan product

Love the look of, that laminate Wood furniture.
I’m so torn. Debating selling this baby so I can start on a new PSA build. But it’s so hard to let go of it
Keep it……AND, start your new build !
You don’t have to break up with your current girl……to start seeing a new one
.
That’s the great thing about AK’s……they don’t get crazy jealous when you bring another one home.
Def will remember this advice
next up is the stock if I can remove the damn pin!
