At a gun show yesterday and I found some vintage Russian Bakelite pistol grips. They were rough and ugly…but one stood out and I could see that it had some character underneath. At $10 bucks…I couldn’t pass it up.
After some (a lot) of hand rubbing and polishing….like a precious gem…it’s beauty was revealed. Nothing added, no clear coats, no sprays….just vintage Bakelite hand polished.
Everyone who has an AK deserves a little “Bling” on their gun.
It also serves to distinguish your AK from the “other guys” AK. Sometimes they all look the same with the standard thermo-plastic furniture.
This is a jewel.
Beautiful Caramel and Amber swirl colors ………they don’t make them like that anymore.

I thought it would compliment my AK…but it didn’t quite match my hand guards. My furniture is more of an orange & cream…and …orange and chocolate. I’ll have to put it away with some other parts ….for the next AK that comes along.

I agree. It is more of a novelty item. Picked it up dirt cheap years ago.
Made in Belarus. Fixed 4 power. Glass isn’t very good.

My son and I collect the good ones when we can find them. Later I ll post a pic ….we have about 6 or 7 that are truly unique.
