Can anyone confirm that the PSA Custom AR 3.5 lbs Match Grate single stage drop in trigger will work in the AR-V? I tried a Triggertech AR9 Adaptable trigger but the hammer does not contact the firing pin correctly or hard enough to get the pin to the primer. Not even a soft strike. Thanks!
The PSA Custom 3.5lb trigger will work with our AR-V.
Thanks,
Josiah
Thank you!
I can confirm the PSA 3.5 match grade single stage trigger works great in the PSA ARV9. That is what in my ARV since purchased new. I swapped the standard mil-spec trigger day 1 for the PSA drop-in.
It should be safe to assume that any drop-in AR-15 trigger should work in the AR-V, right? All the parts are the same in the FCG, right?
Yes…but i have seen some issues with forced reset and binary triggers due to speed and feeding.
Any specific brands—that probably a no-go ask? I hav an AIM Surplus drop in on hand and was considering a swap for this FCG.
You should be good with an AIM drop in. I have a Geissele 2 stage in mine.
I have attempted the same upgrade using the AR-9 trigger from Triggertech. It installs ok, and I can operate the charging handle. But when you activate the trigger, the hammer will get stuck midway, before it can reach the firing pin. I’ve figured that it’s the top of the hammer that gets caught at the top of the cavity inside the bolt. The hammer is slightly wider than the cut on the top of the bolt(8.55mm to 8.40mm) and It cannot complete the movement.
AR-Vs use standard triggers, not ar 9 specific triggers (which have to comply with either ramped or unramped bolts).
The EPT trigger on the AR-V is pretty darn good who needs a forced reset or custom trigger imo.
