PSA needs to stop being so cheap!

I used a $3 HF clamp. This tool would be much better, but it wasn’t in the budget. The swiveling head in the clamp really complicates things.

Something ELSE to fabricate…

Cut off the swivel as close as possible to the foot.
Grind down one stopper on the T-handle.
Disassemble clamp.
Chuck up screw in lathe and true end, then bore appropriate-sized concentric hole in end of screw, no more than .125” deep.
Reassemble clamp, use small tack weld(s) to secure handle in screw.
For extra points, cut rubber pad for bottom of “C” and bond to prevent marring finish of lower.

I can’t do this, but it is awesome to know it can be done.

If I had a lathe I imagine I’d have the tools to easily insert a roll pin lol.

In other news, I had a handheld flat nose channel lock like grip tool that has been in an old bag for years. Put some tape on it, squeezed it a few times to have it lock down onto the receiver, then a good squeeze (after oil!) and it was completely in and flush. A little tappy tap afterwards and it’s now slightly under. A little bluing to cover up the scuffs on the pin itself (I didn’t put a single mark on this receiver) and I’m happy.

Problem is… now it’s a lower… just sitting there naked like without something on top of it.

Probably the best deal is to get the full build blem kits with upper included plus flip up magpul sights for 400. But they only come out on sale like they every once in a while.

well i can happily say i have never had any issues with their parts like you did? Also if i mix any parts with PSA’s i only use Anderson or Aero Preicision. Actually Anderson and Aero go really well together. just like PSA and them both! At least with every 223/556 i have built , or complete pSA upper and Anderson lower or Aero and Anderson lower. Now i have decided to build like 5 rifles from scratch! LOL IDK why but im doing it. It took me the last 5yrs to buy all the parts, but im finally ready! I just finished my work area and all thats left is to make it climate controlled! LOL But once thats done ill have my mancave of my dreams! I walk in gun room/safe! Can wait!!! Keep on building brother!

I am a California native that moved to the eastern panhandle of West Virginia in 1998. I grew up in a conservative part of California and enjoyed my gun rights back then. But when I got to West Virginia, it was so much better. I even wound up buying a suppressor with. Which are illegal under California law

In the last few years I have bought three of the PSA stripped lowers and parts kit, and have assembled them myself. I usually then buy a complete upper from PSA.

When I’m ready for a new build, I start watching their website for sales and I also get their emails. Sometimes they have really good sales, especially when they include free shipping.

I’m having an issue with the Jakl parts. It’s cheaper to buy a whole darn Jakl lower with the JMAC stock and folding adapter than buying just the stock and adapter separately. Am I wrong in this? Not that I mind buying more stuff… That skeleton, not triangle, stock I find very appealing. Throw in a Chameleon knurled charging handle and I’m good to go.

They need to stay that way, so far I’ve been able to build a firearm for each of my kids, now I need to build some for my future grandkids!

PSA has made the 2nd Amendment truly accessible to any US citizen. They have made defending oneself affordable and approachable.
