Noticed that you had 0 responses to your post. While not from Missouri, I have been there to Lake of the Ozarks around 1966 or 67, and driven through when I drove back and forth from Minot AFB N.D. to Louisiana and back several times. Hope you find a pardner to go to the range with.

P.S. Are county roads there still marked with letters instead of numbers? Once after midnight, decided to drive from K.C. down thru the center and down thru center of Arkansas. None of the roads were on the maps that I had (1986-90) I used the compass that I mounted on my dashboard 86 model Isuzu Trooper. A lot of Missourans leaving bars on a Friday night in small towns. It was an adventure. I saw Missouri tags - The Show Me State everywhere of course. I kept saying will one of y’all kindly show how to get the hell outta here! I made my way south, and didn’t lose too much time. Finally I got to Arkansas line and they had numbers on the road signs again… :us_outlying_islands:

Missouri county-maintained secondary highways are letter-marked: A-Z, then AA-ZZ, within each county. You can have say an “OO” highway in one county, then across the line in the next county another “OO”; and which are non-contiguous to one-another.

State-maintained primary highways are numbered, with: N-S odd numbers and W-E even.
