Going to Lake Marion for a few days of RnR. Plan on bank or dock fishing, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for tackle shop for bait or maybe a fishing charter?

I’m going to pass on charters this trip too pricey for me alone. I found some tackle shops so I’m going to delete post.

Yeah, my brother takes a three day trip every year from Biloxi, Mississippi to Chandeleur Islands off the coast of Louisiana. About 70 miles south of Biloxi. 20 years ago it was $700. Have no idea what it would be nowadays. He tried to get me to go for years. But I couldn’t see taking off work, and driving over finding a place to park for three days, and non resident saltwater license, etc.
I hope you do get to go fishing and have a great time though. Sounds awesome.

I couldn’t help but look up the area you were going fishing. I love geography, and I have very limited experience in the Great State of South Carolina.

That bridge you drove over coming into SC was part of Lake Hartwell, which is part of the Lake Jocasse, Keowee, Hartwell, Thurman(Clark’s Hill Lake if you’re on your side of the border) system. We have some good fishing here in SC.

Also if you didn’t know about it SCDNR website has saltwater fishing trends and freshwater fishing trends.

The Wyndham on Bass drive it’s right off of I-95 , plan is I’m going to check out the Santee State Park during the day.

Unfortunately you will be in a area of the lake that I am not that familiar with. I know the upper part of Lake Marion around Rimini and Sparkleberry Swamp. I also know the lower part of Lake Marion at Randolph’s Landing, Wyboo Creek, Potato Creek, and Taw Caw Creek. The only other areas that I know is at the bottom of Lake Moultrie at Pinopolis Dam, Bonneau and the Jungle.
I was hoping that I was going to be able to help you but you picked one of the areas that I don’t know. If you would have picked one of the above areas I could tell you where to fish.
