**Why doesn’t PSA offer an optional enhanced QC inspection for the SABRE and new AXR series?**In the precision long-range rifle world, it’s common to pay extra for additional quality checks—such as headspace verification—when buying from high-end manufacturers. There’s clearly a market for customers who want that added peace of mind.
Offering something similar for the SABRE and AXR line—say, an optional ~$80 enhanced QC inspection on a 14.5" SABRE upper before shipping. It would give buyers a clear choice: standard QC or premium, documented inspection.
This would also go a long way toward addressing ongoing criticism of PSA’s quality control. When someone claims, “My SABRE had a gas block issue—I’m switching to BCM,” the response becomes simple: Did you opt for the enhanced QC? IF NOT, THE EXPECTATIONS WERE CLEAR DUMBO!!!
There could be “clowning” from idiots who know nothing about output from PSA over other brands (more weapons sold = more chance for QC issues). I’m MOSTLY on PSA side here, trying to figure out something that will shut these dumb no fact haters up. Less cost for customer = sacrifice SOMEWHERE aka QC as the obvious best choice. $80 would comp PSA for their added QC for YOUR specific rifle, so you can’t complain about QC… but if their added QC inspection was BAD, I mean you’re definitely getting a refund or new rifle with no added expense to you.
Accomplishes: PSA can save face and provide better QC if customer is willing to spend $80… Customer benefits by still paying less than High end brand, but gets a GOOD rifle with extra QC than even higher ends would likely have… (a portion of that money could go to your QC inspection employee as a incentive bonus possibly). The $ amount would have to stay low enough to make sense for both buyer and manufacturer.
Reading up a bit more on the AXR - if these grip modules are going to be compatible with the RXM that could be big. Plus, it seems like they’re trying to capitalize on people abandoning the Sig 320.
It doesn’t appeal to me personally, but if those two things are true, I can see why they’re exploring it.
I like the knurled on the Olcan setup. I don’t think a folding charging handle would work too well since it’s so close to you already. But a folding one on my conventional setup 13.7 Jakl would be a welcome upgrade.
Oh, also, I don’t know if anyone here can pass up feedback or if any actual PSA employees frequent the forums often enough to catch feedback, but I do want to say that I would love to see the AXR SSP rifles come with more than just black and FDE at launch. Give us some ODG and slate gray color options when it finally comes out.
My Jakl and Olcan are FDE, I think I would rather have an AXR SSP in ODG or grey. (And releasing a .308 SSP at the time the 5.56 launches would be awesome too )
