For optics users, side charge is far better than T handle for keeping your cheek in place and charging the rifle. Also far easier to grab a side charge if your optic hangs over the rear of the upper. Given the option I will always go with side charging uppers. For simplicity and speed on target.
The side charge is more appealing. Have you priced everything out yet?

Glad you brought this up. Looking at a side charger for my next build also. Just to spice things up a bit. Picked up 2 PSA AR-15 lowers last month and need to build them out.
Depends on who she is .. might not even notice or care eh.
