Anyone know if dedicated .22LR uppers will be coming back in stock any time soon? I have 5.56 10.5" but would like to burn some .22s to lower expenses a little.
I use the Bravo conversion kit and haven’t had any issues.
off topic.
Not off topic. Good luck getting a .22LR Upper into the manufacturing capacity plan @ PSA with the continuing development of the Rock, Dagger, JAKL. AK-V, AR-V and the sales volume of such and the co-development of the AAC manufacturing plant already impacting the pricing of the calibers they are making.
Check whenever you can and set an alert with the “Notify when in stock” button.
They periodically do a run of them - seems like every couple months (wild guess). They’re not cheap, but the features are great (i.e., threaded barrel, nitrided barrel, m-lok, etc.). Looks like the recommended mag (Black Dog) is having supply troubles too.
PSA .22 BCG is on the website today, and went out as a part of the morning email.
That button has never worked for me. I’ve never been notified when things come back in stock. Hopefully other people have had better results.
It takes an hour for an item to be in stock before the notification is sent.
Well I’ll be…
Ive done this on 4 or 5 things and have never ever got a message that it was back in stock.
Just today I did it with AAC 5.56 because it was out of stock. Later in the day it was back in stock and for the first time I got an email notification. 1000 rnds of AAC 5.56 on the way!!!
Never say never ![]()
Woot!!
Thanks. I have, am hoping it’s not a permanent out of stock item. I want a dedicated upper with proper rifling, not a conversion I have to deal with.
I gave up on PSA having one back in stock and bought this Bear Creek Arsenal upper. Very pleased with it.
I bought 2 last year when they were available. Should have bought 3. They shoot very well.
I have the CMMG conversion kit. Watch for sales…including this site…frequently see it for $165 w/3 25rnd mags, and free shipping.
I waited a couple of years some time back. Finally, I got tired of waiting and bought a CMMG upper off a site that rhymes with “FunCroaker.”
what was the cost per upper?
MidwayUSA has the 17" uppers for only 750. So I’m buying a Powerball ticket.
there’s not much at all involved in building a dedicated upper. To my knowledge CMMG is the only company that makes the dedicated 22lr barrels and bolts and they re sell them through various 3rd parties. I’ve gone through righttobear.com numerous times and have always had good experiences. I am a full blown self admitted card carrying PSA nut hugger and if you can get what you want from them then do it. If not then seek elsewhere. Get any standard mil spec AR upper receiver, get a dedicated 22lr barrel and bolt, dedicated 22lr charging handle, yes the 22lr charging handles are different. There is a dedicated 22 bolt catch but it is not a must have, you just won’t have any form of BHO capability. Add in any standard AR rail system and you have a dedicated 22lr upper, or just buy one direct from them.

As with most anything from PSA and because of PSA’s awesome goal of just filling the United States with so many guns it would be impossible to ever do a buy back, you will get it for less $ than you will get a similar thing from almost anyone. So RTB is probably more money but if you want it now then they do have them available.
I can, and must, wait. At least until after the holidays, for sure.
I jumped on a PSA 7 1/2" upper AFTER l sent back a BCA 16" dedicated upper…arrived scratched and FTF, FTE. That was my last transaction with BCA ( 2021).
For me the PSA dedicated .22 upper was not a consistent runner at first. Misfire at 5th or 6th round. Borebuddy kit put a end to that issue. Bolt catch on the lower is useless, the mag follower is your bolt catch. And when you remove the mag the little bolt will slam home. I use the CH to ease it from slamming. A very fun running .22 tho.
