Be honest, I don’t see us avoiding Kessler syndrome for all that much longer. The way we keep sending more stuff up and the total disregard China and Russia have, with their ASAT “tests”, it’s only a matter of time. It will be a shame to lose LEO.

So a Chinese man is arrested yesterday in California for flying a drone over a US Military Base.

Yep. We shot down their balloon, now lets get to shooting down these drones. I mean, after January 20th.
I checked with www.iwanttoshootsomethingdown.com and they confirmed if it’s as big as your thumb you can shoot it down with small arms. Hence the term “Rule of thumb”.
the news was reporting it as Iranian drones possibly yesterday, so who knows. at this point im severely disappointed on our intelligence collcting abilities, as our government should know exactly who is doing what regarding these drones. especailly to be legal flying some of a certain size as a citizen you have to be licensed. this is telling me that its not anyone who is doing anything “good” so it must be something bad.
Unless it’s our government or a company trying to get a government contract flying highly classified drones at night kind of like how they tested the stealth bombers for years before revealing what they were.
Let that happen in the south

I am at the NJ shore.
Went out the beach last night, it was clear out. Looking east over the ocean, It was like an aerial highway. Lights everywhere. Planes in the flight path to Newark, helicopters, [ C.Guard + SPolice looking for drones says the news] and what ever.
The planes from joint base MDL helo’s from the C. Guard are in the air over our county and house all the time. Small airports north and south of us too.
I do not know how someone could see a drone over all the other stuff up there.
A County Sherriff officer says he’s seen 50.
I want what he’s smoking.
BTW this is NJ where a man was arrested for shooting a drone spying on his bikini wearing teenage daughters in his yard. So I won’t be shooting at the sky anytime soon.
