Not really.
I can see that. They don’t have the best website either. They had a great salesman that explained it well in person though.
It’s Typical for The Wife and I to be pelted with copper & lead-shrapnel at Steel Challenge events - but seldom does it fly fast enough to sting, or “wound” anyone.
Shooting Steel, ricochets are just a fact of life. But I’m still sorry one Got her.
There were definitely more. They used all the bays up to the end of the pond, plus beretta had 2 on the back side where a lot of vendors were parked. HK and Hyperfire had their own booths between Sig and Springfield. And there were a couple of bays that had 3 vendors sharing the spaces.
I get it; sometimes the sales pitch works, so as a salesperson, you gotta lead with it. But an elevator pitch can be better than an entire powerpoint presentation. Tick tock mf tick tock - we wanna test your product, not our patience.
There’s one repeat vendor who is very chatty. He simply likes talking about what they brought, and guns in general. Super cool guy; but bro, hand me the product - I can’t even hear 2/3 of the words coming out of your mouth. with all the shooting going on around us, my earpro keeps cutting out! ![]()
That’s a big reason why I stick with foam there.
I don’t know the guys name but one guy at the Dead Air booth trapped me. I thought I asked a simple question that would have given me maybe a 5 word answer…. I was wrong. He walked with me out from under the tent and kept talking…maybe I’m part of the problem ![]()
Literally the guy I’m referring to. ![]()

if i had more money i would have gotten a microtech oTF myself. that said, i didnt know about them having plants in NC either. I prefer to support the little man businesses if i can, but with them having plants in NC id be down with supporting them too.
I went by kimber a few times, but they were always too busy for me to get to look at, which is a bumer as id of liked to. GLock is glock, and to me it always seems like its always the same gun, so it would take a LOT to make me excited over a glock again at this point. I hate to say that but its true.
I too was surprised about taurus a lot cause i love their sister company Rossi. Heck last year Taurus was giving out hard plastic gun cases, so it really surprised me they were a no show this year. I guess it being Salad days, and the trump slump has really effected many of the companies this year worse than expected. Ruger i wanted to shoot a gp100 and heritage is always fun as i have one of their revolvers. Id of also loved to see say ATI from summerville to have came up too, but sadly they were a no show.
i was really disappointed in teh lineup of PSA guns. PSA i feel shoulda had a full lineup of thier current production examples basically for folks to at least handle or look at if not to shoot too..
first lemme say i love ya man. second i gotta say why the sound of surprise in your voice? PSA builds great kit, be it from the bottom entry level rifle, to the top of the line sabre.. they are great. well built, dependable, and can take a beating. I’ve said this for years, and just keep wondering why folks are so surprised when they see it happen.
what did they think ?? how much fun did they have? they seemed like real solid guys that would be cool to chill with, but im curious of their opinions after what you’ve said here.

et tu brute’?
I agree it does have that feel.. you gotta poke around for sure.. i wouldnt have known just by a brief look at the landing page there was AR variations if i hadnt been told at the gathering. of course i wouldnt have been half as interested if i hadnt seen it in action myself. and for the price already being 50-60.00 discounted at the gathering it was a no brainer for a lot of folks.. wish i’d of had the cash but after buying the knife from PBK i was tapped. ![]()
yeah i was surprised about the ricochets too, and am just happy nothing bad came from them. it coulda been a lot worse and thankfully it wasnt.
plus from 2 years ago they did make the shotgun bays in to thier new location which really opened up the area back where glock was.. Also the entire gathering was better organized, laid out better for items and vendors and food trucks etc.. the organization of the area really made it a lot better if you ask me too.
Glock to me is the standard for so many things now. Obviously, their striker-fired handguns have been great for years. If they were not so good, we wouldn’t have all these “clones” come about. Love them or hate them, they are reliable. I agree with you though, they were not exciting to me and would need something hot and new to really get my jimmies rustled. The COA? Cool I guess… I don’t see myself buying one.
What Glock did well though that shouldn’t be overlooked is how they ran their space. This is them saying watch us run efficiently for all skill levels, a standard that some other vendors should look at at least as the bar to rise to. Also, every time I passed by, their swag on the table was different. It’s as if they planned on the vultures descending on their table for the free stuff and staged out freebies over the two days to keep people coming back to them for at least the semblance of people interested in their product.
@SuperPredator probably 5 minutes before I got to Mr Chatterbox, I watched them run a 300BLK through an AK chambered in 7.62x39 with a can. I’m pretty sure I heard the reasoning as the 7.62x39 and the 300BLK being near each other on the table or something…
They’re hurting themselves with their cumbersome website.
They were $5 off.
unless im wrong, glock never has free swag.. what you saw was their for sale gear, being sold out and replinished i would bet. .every year we mods would try to get swag at glock, and at most we’d be luck to get a sticker or patch… all the rest on the main table was for sale. hats, shirts, etc etc..
but you’re right, they are quite awesome as far as efficiency is concerned.
my bad on price. 105 so 5.00 off. lol
I’m sorry, what I mean by free swag was the stickers, patches, hats and everything else besides their items for sale. Their table with display pistols for people to look at had the swag. I got at least two different kinds of stickers and then they had Glock pens towards the end on Saturday. Made me think they probably had different stuff throughout both days. Maybe it’s wishful thinking. Maybe it’s an idea for them next year cough cough
well ill have to check it out again then next year.. cause thats a newer development if theyre putting freebies out ![]()
Only surprised that they chose a PSA. So few of the accessory vendors showcase their products in a PSA rifle even when they are at PSA’s event. IDK why I feel so impressed by it though; it’s not like I expected it to fail, but just impressed that the budget go-to ran as well as any of the gucci brands would have.
If I remember correctly, they had probably one of the cheapest ARs that PSA offers too. So it’s not like they went with a Sabre or tricked out one. They said it was a $400 AR…now I don’t think those exist anymore but the points stands, the cheap AR can run like a scalded ape and accuracy through volume is a valid arguement.
May or may not be trying out one in a Freedom setup
well since you put it that way i can agree. many folks really dont use PSA to show off their stuff even at the PSA event as you said, so i agree with you there. it was nice to see them using psa stuff to prove it though.
oh but they do. you can buy them every day on the daily deals emails usually. even if you have to buy an upper and lower and put them together its still a 400 dollar ar.
Man you are right. I guess I just haven’t looked real hard.
no worries. maybe its cause youre not in the market right now for an inexpensive ar?
