Oh wow. I can see why they moved to tickets to try and limit their crowd. If it was walk up and pay, with everything staying the same, I MIGHT do it. There’s nowhere near me that you can legally shoot a mile long. Shooting down the highway is usually frowned upon ![]()
I know I asked before, but any chatter about Barrett being at the gathering this year?
I did it last year, and the mile shoot was a super fun , challenging event. I hope some kind of long range shooting will be there.
Nothing yet.
Thanks … let’s keep being hopeful!
I just heard about this for the first time today. What is the benefit, other than trigger time, of going to both days? Are therr different vendors on different days? Some vendors have different models available from one day to the next?
Welcome to the forums @warriormagee! With as many people that do go to this, you may not be able to get to all the vendors that you would like. If you’re going for a few specific vendors and firearms, one day would be fine. If you’re like most of us, you’ll want to get behind the trigger on just about everything you see, which means you’ll probably want to go both days. The vendors of course will usually have free swag (while supplies last) and there is the vendor village too! The vendor village is loaded with things you can buy. Krate Tactical has been the target sponsor the past couple years (maybe every year?) and they have a booth to buy targets, knives and other gear. @PapaBearKnivesV2 had knives last year and I picked one up.
Thank you.
@warriormagee we usually have PSA gear for forum users on Saturday morning.
That is good to know. Thank you!
And I usually get left over breakfast! Which is always amazing!
My man!!!
Speaking of the gathering, I am in no way ready for it. I’m sure, like always, I’ll some how pull it off. I mean I ran on a generator last year. Surely I can make it happen
I remember that, I take it you got the power problem solved.
I did, shortly after the gathering
I’m using a new to me steel too, by the way.
I’m sure I’ll have some with me at the gathering but it’s CD#1 steel. It’s designed to be the toughest, or at least one of the toughest steels and its purpose is for wood chippers. I think we all understand the need for wood chippers…
Why not have a personal wood chipper on your side or as a daily carry?!
IF after the Gathering (which I am once again not going to make this year…
) you’ve got any of your “Gathering Blades“ left… lemme know. ![]()
Tickets for the mile shoot go on sale February 4 at 11am.
Will do! I know I’ll have plenty left!
Quick question to all The Gathering folks. It says on the website that kids under 16 get free entry. But when I go to eventbrite there is no option for children’s tickets. Do I just buy a ticket for myself and show up with my son and they just let him in?
I emailed the address given for questions a few days ago, but have yet to hear back. So I figured I would ask here.
Thanks!
Update: Right after I posted this they replied to my email! They said he will be admitted at the gate. FYI
I missed the window for them and it’s sold out now ![]()
