Exploring options in case DC comes out against the pistol brace and moves them into the SBR arena. Has anyone ordered the 16" PSA GEN4 UPPER with charging handle/BGC and dropped it onto the PSA AR-V 10.5"? Did it require any modifications and did the LRBHO still function?
Please keep the topic on build options and not the politics of pistol braces.

My understanding is that AR-V uppers and lowers only work with other AR-Vs.

Completely different receiver and bolt profile, won’t fit.

I thought the same thing but when I talked to CS about barrel swaps they suggested using the Gen4 upper kit. The rep couldn’t tell me if the swap was seamless. Afraid to spend $500 on the upper kit only to find out they don’t mesh well together.
Next option might be to just swap the barrel out.
I hate being the clueless new guy.

That is not true, you would have a long barreled pistol. The opposite is true where if you were to convert a lower that was sold as a complete rifle into a pistol it would be an SBR. The ATF considers any receiver sold as a rifle to always be a rifle, even if you put a short barrel and brace on it.
How was the Receiver registered on the 4473 at the time of the purchase?
