Anyone have any reviews or opinions on the AR10 upper with the nitrided barrel ?
I’m guessing it will last a long time because of the durability of a nitrided surface. “They” say that stainless steel is more accurate…
Here’s an article comparing SS and nitride for the 6.5 Grendel. It’s not .308, but directly related - he does say it’s more affected by who makes the barrel (plus gives very interesting information about manufacturing and why SS could be more accurate):

Not sure if I’m right or wrong, but PSA makes pretty darn good barrels. Keeping a rifle for a lifetime and as an inheritance, I’d choose nitride nowadays (JMHO).
Thanks for the article.
I jumped on the 20” nitrided upper, deal of the day. Just curious on what others thought of it.
I’m sure it’ll sling some lead down range just fine.
With the New Years sales and this upper I should have a good set up to start with.
