Started to wear a small backpack while moving around the place. Feels kind of sad, because it probably weighs half what my old tool pouch weighed. But it is an improvement over a few months ago. I have small weights. I plan to buy a thrift store pack that I can ruin by putting small weights in it. Then I’ll know how much I’ve been toting. I have a step counter, but can’t figure it out, yet.

I had my semi-annual physical last week.
Since my last check-up in January I have lost another 10 lbs. this makes a total of nearly 45 lbs. lost since January of 2021.
My BP was 100/63
My A1C has dropped from 6.8 to 6.0 from a high of 11.4 a year ago.
My LDL is in the low 60’s which clears the “danger” threshold.
My kidney function (GFR, creatinine) has improved
I was taken off daily low dose aspirin
And all of this was done by walking. Walking the dog. Now up to 3 miles a day. And not stuffing my face.
My sabbatical is almost over. I have to put in around 100 tomato plants tomorrow and then it’s back to some kind of workout every day.
I mentioned in another thread that I had taken a trip to Charleston. MY GOD THE FATASSEDYANKEES. Busses full of them. You watch them and they can barely walk, more like waddle.
I have a gut that is a product of being 63Yrs. Old but damn, I can bench 250 and can walk for miles and miles. Heaven forbid, dozens and dozens of FATASSEDYANKEES with their yellow tour group landyards around their necks waddling in herds.
If you ever need motivation, go to Charleston in the spring time and just watch. OMG.

I just started walking last week with one of the guys in the neighborhood because I realized most of my pants dont fit anymore. My goal is to run a mile on thursdays until I can work up the stamina to go further. I need to burn some of this beer gut off.
