I’d suggest Fairfax Rod and Gun Club in Manassas. There’s a long waiting list to join the club but they have a lot of competitions that are open to the public (IDPA, silhouette, etc). Izaak Walton League has a club in Alexandria but I’ve never been there and don’t know how hard it is to get in.

KS-47 essential build kits

Out of curiosity, why do the 74 mags not work? The PMAGs seem to fit alright. Granted, I haven’t put a 5.45 conversion on yet, so I’m just curious why the mags are incompatible

First build

Just orderd the I purchased the PSA 16" MID-LENGTH 5.56 NATO 1:7 NITRIDE 13.5" LIGHTWEIGHT M-LOK Upper w BCG and CH and MOE EPT Stealth lower. Should be in early next week. Can’t wait to get it to get shooting. Will update on the forum for a review of the build. Also got MFT mags and Tippman front and rear flip up sights.

Shooting Ranges

I usually shoot at Wade’s Eastside in Bellevue. They fairly recently renovated and improved the ventilation and removed the gravel berms in favor of armored bullet catchers. Staff is generally friendly and helpful and are on the spot regarding range safety, regularly patrolling up and down the bays. They also have private booths for rent upstairs which is new and can pencil out if you have a larger group. Someone can correct me if things have changed but I no longer shoot at Bullseye in Taco…
