I’ve recently dove head 1st into the world of suppressed fire. My 223 AR’s are sporting cans along with a 15-22 and my 1911-22. I’m hooked.
Now I’m considering a 300BO in a suppressed model. That round ( if I am properly informed) was designed for the purpose of running suppressed and being whisper quiet. My question surrounds barrel length. 10.5 is the shortest one could go in 223. But I’m seeing 7 inch with twist rates of 1/8 for a 300. So, how short can i make a 300 and still have reliable predictability at a variety of distances.
300blk was designed for 8-8.5" barrels using subsonic ammo and a can. Some manufacturers make less than 8" but for me that is a really good length that helps stabilize heavier bullets.
I run a 8.5 inch jakl that im going to suppress and a 10.5 AR that will also be ran suppressed for my 300 blk rounds. so far all ive shot has been unsuppressed on my guns and well lemme just say its a very fun round even unsuppressed.
best of luck im sure you’ll enjoy it.
suppressors are great fun.i said i would check my book to show what my loads are for 300 Black out. now i dont remember where i was to put them.
it might not be a good idea to just copy my data because i could be an idiot.
so as i said i like the 168 grain projectile and i use 7.7 grains of H110 and that will cycle my AR. the upper is a PSA 8.5 inch barrel.
i plan to get a shorter barrel for my PA 10, say 12 or 13 inches. now it is a 16 inch and the same can works on both the 308 and 300 BO.
for the 308 i use 9.9 grains of Trail Boss powder but these are a 149 gr projectile.
i just loader more but i cant remember if this is the load that cycles or the load that is more quiet.
