A bowhunter here that is relatively new to firearm hunting. Anyone hunting with suppressed 300blk? If so, what barrel length are you using? Any other experiences hunting with it would be appreciated too.
For 300blk i use supers only on a 16" barrel. Doesnt work as well suppressed since its supers but still takes the edge off.
Friend of mine has taken a couple off my place the last few years with 300 subs. Its not ideal, but a projectile engineered specifically for proper expansion and terminal performance at those velocities will definitely kill cleanly. I think he uses a gorilla factory load at 75yd or under and has a quietener always. It’s just less forgiving on placement. I would say only do it if you are confident in grouping at known distance.
Relevant context: these are TX hill country whitetails, and he is only targetting does and spikes, so rarely over 100 lbs live weight
