For those that have seen the compact rock from shot show 2024 I would love to see more photos/video or hear your impressions as many of the other concept guns got much more attention. Thanks!
Welcome to the PSA community @alexpalmiter ![]()
i’d love to know how she feels, but everyone ive heard said its just like the dagger compact just about… (first dagger)
My biggest concern is the reduction in barrel length. If you’re going to reduce the barrel length and lose velocity then the greatest advantages of 5.7 start to diminish and standard, commodity, 9mm in short barrel pistols starts to look like a better performer at a more attractive cost.
IMHO, 5.7 has a sweet spot for size of the gun and performance of the cartridge. Above or below that sweet spot and the 5.7 loses its advantage to other platforms.
Peace favor your sword,
Kirk
i agree with you about barrel length. which is also why i am cautious about suppressors and shorter barreled 5.7s… lets hope psa doesnt cut it too short. I’d think that they would take the velocity/barrel length into account when developing it though hopefully.
Funny you mention suppressors and the Rock. today I had mine out and shot 100 rounds of 197 and a hundred rounds of fiocchi 62gr suppressed with a suppressor on the rock. I am happy to report all 200 rounds absolutely killed the paper target. Goal met and fun had by all
thats awesome Kirk. were you shooting suppressed ?
The rock I had the suppressor on for just the 62 grain Don’t want to over heat/stress it as it is aluminum. My point is that a compact is something i would get , I shoot to make holes and ding steel. So if the compact only goes 1400 vs 2400 i could are less as long as it cycles and shoots well, as the rock and daggers do. How ever caution on suppressed 5.7 ammo ,it will drain your wallet fast!
oh cool. i have no suppressor rated for 5.7 although i do have a cheap o .22 suppressor. Im sure the compact will be a blast to shoot with or without a suppressor. I’m like you, and mostly sport shoot plink or paper, or steel, even if i do love the tactical things. yeah i know all about 5.7 draining the wallet ive got a ps90 and a 57 as well as a rock, and im gonna get that lovely x5.7 with the fun trigger that psa is working on right now, so i know that the rounds will disappear fast. one blessing on all that is AAC is producing beautiful amounts of 5.7 in a much more reasonable price point, so much so i’ve noticed that even FN 5.7 rounds have dropped from 49.99 a box to 28.99 a box or close to it, on psa’s site. so hopefully that trend will continue… and of course stock up as i can while it is so inexpensive.
I made the mistake on my first 22 suppressor. it is the SOLO and works great on my ar22 and savage bolt(garage quiet). I then got a JK CCx9and they said ok for 5.7. they have a 22 end cap for it. I rate is a a 22 suppressor bored out to 9mm, works for both but… Ithink Iam just going to get a Sparrow, SS and under300 You said fancy trigger—Binary?
yep. i cant remember who’s making the trigger now, but it is going to have a binary option from what jamin was saying, i think that would be fun to have on it, not that its economical… but who ever said fun was.
$27.99 today. The polymer tipped AAC have been hen’s teeth for more than a minute.
have the franklin binary i use with 22, and 17 hmr a lot, I would get that Panzer upper if it weren’t so much $ to run on that lower once in a while
im sure that they sell out fast. they do in the stores. ive got an order in for a case of vmax aac but no telling when itll show up. hopefully itll come soon.
i had thought about buying the binary for the.22 myself…
which panzer upper? if im familliar with it ive forgotten it already…
I’m guessing this one or the 12"

The 16" 5.7 like rufus linked
the Franklin lower with binary is 350 today on PSA site,
thats a great buy!
I bought one the last time they had them that low. Works quite well with the Panzer 16.
Thanks,
now at least I know that it works if the upper goes on sale and pockets permit
I am curious if you have seen the Gflex trigger they just had for the glock 19, 17 etc this week.
You mentioned a fun trigger that PSA was soon to have for the 5.7 compact.
I wonder if this is it and also curious if anyone used this Gflex on a dagger
………………i want a compact rock now…
nvm going to get one they already have, just like the daggers now they look all gucci
