Assembled an 8" 8.6 BLK upper for my PA10 SBR. Still waiting for a thread adapter so I can attach my suppressor. Ammo should arrive tomorrow.

Yes. Bering Optics Hogster R 25. When I started ordering parts for this upper, I was looking for something different for the optic. I thought I might as well add thermal capability to one of my rifles.

I’m in Virginia, so there is some opportunity for hog hunting during deer season. I was actually setting this up as a defensive rifle with different optic capabilities from my others, but it really did turn out as an ideal hog rifle.

The real question……where do you buy ammo for it and how much is a box of ammo ?
8.6 is a gun on my short list of next guns.
Will a 9mm suppressor have sufficient clearance for that 8.6.

The only ammo currently available is from Gorilla Ammunition (it sells out immediately when it hits the website - less than a minute last Friday when sales opened up). 288gr subsonic is $49.99 for a box of 20, so it is pricey. I’m planning to use a 9mm suppressor when my thread adaptor arrives, and I’ve seen several guys on another forum that are doing the same. Chamber pressure for the Gorilla subsonics is 22,000-24,000.

It was addressed, but I was going to say pressures would be my only concern using a 9mm can. Seems like 8.6 is on the low end, so probably gtg but definitely worth verifying
Pressure was confirmed with a phone call to Gorilla. I was a little uneasy about using a 9mm can until I talked with them.

How is it running the subsonic? I’m actually looking at one and was curious if you had to make many adjustments to it. I know Faxon was saying that it was optimized for supersonic and subs required some fune tuning.
Haven’t had a chance to fire it yet, and still only have two boxes of ammo. Factory ammo isn’t readily available. Actually, since the one run where I picked up the limit of two boxes, ammo hasn’t been available at all.
Seriously considering moving the Hogster to a 300 BLK.

Appreciate it. Gorilla is all stocked ip with no limits right now. It’s still pricey though.
Gorilla is 100% out-of-stock, and has been since they let me buy two boxes in June. I check constantly and have e-mail alerts set.
