Suppressor help

Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing great.
I’ve been saving up for a suppressor for some time now, I want one to use on multiple guns. It doesn’t have to be all of them but the main one is my rock and AR 57 with 12in barrel. I would like it to work on both my 5.7 weapons. Would be nice if it works on my 5.56 9mm Dagger and a carbine. I want a 300 blackout Pistol and would like it to work on that to. Only have $500 to spend on one not including tax stamp so technically I have $700.
Any recommendations would be appreciated, preferably from someone that owns one.
Thanks Bob

That’s a tall order. There may be a few out there that are good for .300blk down but you will have to search hard for that. Doubt you will find a one size fits all for $500.

No suppressor will work well from .30cal down to essentially .22

You really need two cans, a 9mm/300 Blackout and a 5.56/.22 can

That will be the best for what you’re seeking to do

The other thing is to contact the manufacturer before you buy to make sure that what you buy will work. Hux may have a can that works, but you are going to pay double your budget and the benefits of being suppressed will be lost with smaller calibers.

For price, you are in the YHM area.

Ya I know, probably will just get the sparrow 22, I’m also looking at the mod 9. The mod 9 is around $560. I should probably wait a few months more to find something that will work for all of my guns. What do you recommend if I had a few hundred more.
Thanks

@Rockymountainjeep, will a sparrow 22 work on a 5.56? It’s listed for .22 and 5.7 but doesn’t say 5.56, if it will work on a 5.56 without any issues I will probably order that one.

No, it won’t hold up

You need a 5.56 rated can. That will handle 5.7 and .22

Not sure you can get anything decent for all those calibers at that price. Buy one and save up for another. I just ordered my 3rd.

Thanks, that’s what I thought. But I’ll take all the assistance I can and this community is great at that. After I get help from people like you I will use that and call the silencer shop.

I always recommend starting big and go down.

Most .30 cans will work on 5.56.

.45 cans will work with 9mm.

Some 9mm will be ok with .300blk subs and barrel restrictions.

Rimfire is a different animal though…

sparrow is solid with 5.7 and 17hmr but not .223/5.56
Silence Co Hybrid DT 46 does my 300 super and subs great as well as 5.56 with a end cap for it.
Works with my 9 SW PCC and 45.
Slightly higher than your500 but not much

My obsidian 9 is great for my sub 300 pistol and my 9 handguns.

Good luck shopping

Thanks, I collect hot wheels and have some I can sale and get more money,. ( Like $300 to $500)

Sell them all and get suppressors. You can actually play with them.

Five hundred bucks really doesn’t get you in the game for a multi-cal suppressor that can also handle shorter barrels. Most of the cans in that price area won’t support 5.56 under 16". And like others above have said, you’re going to sacrifice either sound reduction performance, weight, size, or cost when you’re looking at “do it all” suppressors.

The hardest part is finding a can that will handle 9mm on down and be under a thousand.

I have a YHM T2 Turbo that’s good for 5.56 and below. I get a lot of carbon and crud build up when I shoot .22 through it, but a couple of rounds of 5.56 takes care of that pretty quick.

I also have a SilencerCo Omega 300 that I use for .308/.300BO and down. I have multiple end caps so I can swap them out for smaller rounds, but I’ve found I really can’t notice any difference in performance when shooting 5.56/22 out of the .30 cal end cap.

For your application, I’d recommend saving up a couple hundred more and going for the SilencerCo Hybrid 46 or a YHM R45. I’m seeing them around the open internet at about 7 hundred and 6 hundred respectively. I’ve been extremely happy with both my YHM and SilencerCo cans.

Interesting thread. I’ve been considering suppressors for a little while and pretty much determined that I’ll need a .22LR, a 9mm and a 5.56mm. I know I can shoot .22LR from a 5.56 can, but the little .22LR-only rated cans like the JK Versax look pretty neat for my small .22LR pistols.

Yankee hill are basically the glocks of the supressor world. I have 5 of them. 3 for 556 1 for 9mm (R9) and 1 .22 (phantom). What I love is how robust they are and they come with all you need for a direct mount. If you’re looking for pistol supresssors on browning style you’ll need a neilson and piston.

My advice is get a .22 and direct mount it. The phantom and the sparrow are rated for 5.7 I believe. I have a sparrow as well and that’s great as well.

I always say get a caliber specific suoressor. The multi use are ok (R9 is sick and it’s 1/2x28)

Phantom 22 is rated 5.7 on a 10" minimum barrel.

I have the JK ccx 9 , basically a jk versax 22 drilled to 9mm in my opinion, and have the 22 end cap.
I like it , it is very light weight works on my 5.7 rock and 9mm sw pcc. omeone has it for under 200 today with a code online, good buy if in stock.
That said , I prefer my sparrow 22 at 299 every day, it is a bit quieter, easy to clean and on 5.7 it is definitely better with no barrel limits. I pick it first for most uses.

Tons of good info already stated.

Your desire to maximize the usefulness of one suppressor across multiple platforms is unsustainable.

Unless you whittle your collection down to one single gun, you WILL have multiple suppressors. Even if they were all the same caliber, you’ll get sick of swapping it around guns.

My advice is for you to determine what you want to suppress first. Which gun(s) do you plan to shoot supressed the most? If they are the same caliber, GREAT - focus on getting that one suppressor.

If they are not the same caliber, decide which one you want to supress the most, and again start with the suppressor for that.

Trust me, everyone has wanted to do it the way you want to. But we all found out the hard truth that you can’t just have one. Or two. Or three.

True facts!
