Do it all SUPPRESSOR?

I am looking for a “Value” one size fits all Supressor. It should handle 5.56, .300 Blackout and 9mm. I supoose the right way to do this is to get a caliber specific supressor but when you’re starting out you sort of want to cover as many bases as you can. Any suggestions?

Focus on pistol or rifle. Many suppressor users start with 7.62 and .45 and then go backwards. Yes, there are ones that will work for all calibers but they wont necessarily see the gains of using a suppressor specific caliber.

Good luck finding a do-all.

I have a couple of cans that pull double duty, but a one-size-fits-all at a budget price will probably cost you in time, frustration, and maybe even injury.

You can usually find 9mm cans that can also do .300blk.

It’s harder to find a centerfire rifle can that can work on a pistol due to the weight of it.

What are your thoughts about starting with one first, then building a collection that works for the rest?

My experience with a budget, do-all can:

Huntertown Arms 7.62AK $500

I bought this back in maybe 2012? The idea was that it was designed for an AK, but had a separate threaded section so it could be swapped to an AR to shoot 5.56 through it.

Well, 5.56mm has higher pressure than 7.62x39, so when i shot it on my AR, the baffles crushed from the pressure. They repaired it, but then went out of business so if it breaks again, i gotta pay some machinist willing to touch NFA items.

So now, it’s on my AKV and 9mm runs through it easily. But that’s an example of trying to cover multiple guns on a budget. Never again.

Thank you. Very good information. If they ever repeal the NFA and I don’t have to pay a tax for something that should be encouraged I might buy one. I refuse to give the government more of my money though.

Been on this road the last year or so. 6 suppressors later I have things covered for now!

Outside of 22lr I started with Silencerco Octane45. It covers my 45 M&P and 45PCC as well as my 9mm stuff. It also does well with 300BO suppressed and I have used it for 17hmr also. It does better on some than others but I am satisfied. I then added a SC Hybrid 46 for 556 and higher power rounds.
Thanks to the1 day transfer time i just bought a Obsidian 9mm for dedicated 9 handgun use(bought monday, shot it tuesday!) Nice can than also does 300 BO suppressed. Probably would start with this can first knowing what I do now.
Bonus is the Octane and obsidian both use Alpha ASR mount and I have ASR on all my AR’s now.
after all this I would buy the SC Sparrow for 22/5.7 and the Obsidian9 first next time.

look at things like mounts and adapters and end caps etc. Some have them some don’t , so research things you may not know you want yet…good luck and have fun

that is one way to look at it!
But you may be the one missing out on enjoyable shooting.

Sounds like you can get a decent hybrid for 9mm / 300 blackout if subsonic. Anything rifle his higher pressure so would need its own can. I have an SBR in 9 and .300 / so that’s a double tax stamp platform if I go that way, what’s one more item in a trust? lol

I’m ordering a surefire socom rc 762. This week! My plan was to use it on all my rifles, 6.5, 223, 308, 7.62x39 (they all wear Warcomps & a few MB that I use a Warden on). I’m trying to resist the urge to rebarrel one to 8.6blk, that would be a dedicated 338 direct thread though. Then there’s .22lr, which they’re pretty cheap, considering…
