AAC Ammo Master Thread

62 GR Sabre rocks!

Haven’t heard anything for .223 Rem over the past year, but you never know what the future loads might be.

Anyone know where I can find the BC of the different AAC 6.5 Creedmoor bullets being used? I think I found the SMK 6.5mm 140gr SMK (BC=0.526), but the Sabre Black Tip 140gr, AAC 140g BTHP, and AAC 140g SP would be nice to know.

Can’t wait for the x39… personally I mostly use 5.45, so I’m excited. I don’t shoot a lot of 7.62 but I know that’s what most people shoot when it comes to the Kalash platform. Also hoping maybe some 9x39 one of these days, if Slaaga or someone else can start making VSS and AS VAL clones. I’ll be happy with 5,45 though! That is a big deal for a lot of us 74 lovers.

Did some of the 9mm ,300 blackout, 556 ammo go away? Or is it just me losing it?

.45LC is a bit of a surprise. All the calibers in high demand out there, I can’t imagine that’s one of them.

Their website appearance comes and goes as they change up the bundles and such.

Thx

Not to me. I’ve seen a shortage or rediculusly overpriced .45 colt for the last 5 years or so. I do not have anything chambered in that cartridge but many in my area do.

I got offered a sweet deal on a Vaquero a while back I wanted but I passed on it simply because I didn’t want to start having to stack .45LC too.

Are the AAC Soft tips the Hunting Round ?

The other bullets seem to be more target shooting oriented.

When I read about the 77 Sie SMK, the Open Tip Match etc. …

No these are not Gamekings.

So I’m thinking, maybe the Soft Point is the hunting round.

As far as why, the concern with the SMK etc. I think, is that copper jacket and lead core separate too easily.

Are there any photos of the Soft Point after it has been shot into Gel or in the field of hunting ?

The one hunting round I did try, I was PSYCHED about, until I tried them.

I could not get a ā€œtight clusterā€ at 300 yards. Today I dedicated all 4 targets to the 70 Barnes TSX, and got 4 big diameters. 8 to 9 inches, vs. 1 to 4 inches.

1 to 4 inches is what I got with the 5.56 AAC, the 75 grain, 77 grain OTM.

Also with the AAC 150 FMJ, 150 Soft Tip, 175 Open Tip Match, etc. I had OK clusters.

I managed 3 out of 4 on the small steel at 400 with the 77 Sierra AAC 5.56. All the big steels were shot down at the range today.

But I am puzzled by the performance combination of myself + AAC 70 Barnes.

In computers they use the term ā€œPEBKACā€, or ā€œPEBTACā€ (problem exists between Trigger and Chamber) to refer to Operator Error.

This is very consistent operator error. It’s not Magick - so I figure that there is a reason.

Updated with 5.56 steel case and sabre blade sbx.

So does the 7.62x39 come into stock or is it just up on the website? Ive yet to catch it in stock. Also the 45lc hasnt ever been in stock in front of my eyes so I’m curious about that as well. It looks like the 45lc was taken down. Any word on this would be appreciated.

7.62x39 is being proofed and tested. They had a change they had to make is my understanding. Same with the 45LC.
