Yeah I’m highly interested in the actual mechanical functions of each part. But initially didn’t plan to spend 1200 on base rifle no sights yet or anything. I hoped to be around 7-800 but as I started going part by part I realized I should just invest in the rifle. Barrel, bcg, and buffer system were my main concerns. So I knew I needed to go FN CHF barrel and BCM bcg. Then the buffer system was a toss up of bcm enhanced system or the geiselle braided heavy buffer, I went with the latter trying to keep things milspec since the bcm is an inbetween size spring and tube. I had actually planned to go with one of psa cheap cheap lowers but the aero m4e1 just seemed like it was so thought out and would make interfacing with my rifle more enjoyable and that’s the goal right? I wanna enjoy shooting it, so than I got to thinking instead of a polished enhanced milspec trigger I should invest in the part I interface with more than any other and happened to see brownells had Geisselle triggers on sale. 150 bucks on sale is kinda crazy considering my previous option was 65 bucks. Anyway I really tried to put together quality components, all my controls are wmd nibx coated including charging handle. The only part I’m concerned about is the fitment of the gas block and the size of the port, I’m sure it’s fine I’ve just heard psa has some inconsistency with port drilling and lacking loctite and good stakes on the gas block and hand guard. To my eyes the stakes look quite good maybe a bit to deep imo but they shouldn’t move. The hand guard bolts weren’t even hand tight though I was able to crank most half a rotation out of em so those will need loctite. I just hope all these parts play well together 1200 bucks is a lot when it’s your first time and your essentially shooting blind on the whole thing.
Screws be loose on $1K guns from many manufacturers. Shouldnt have to check that stuff but ya do🤷🏻♂️
Just got this optic searching for a good lightweight mount with 12 o clock rmr mounting options for nv in the future when I can afford them. Sub 5.8o maybe 6o under 100 dollars, does such a mount exist
Does anyone know why they don’t offer the psa 300 blackout uppers with the FDE hand guards but for the same upper in 5.56 they offer the different color choices? Aren’t the hand guards the exact same for either chambering?
How much did you get your BCM BCG for? What about the trigger? The buffer and spring set?
Looks like a great build to me. Just gotta go get a nice barrel now.
The bcg was 180 I got the trigger for a steal 140, the buffer spring I paid for the other savings I think the tube is like 50-70 and the spring the same then 15 dollar end plate and 20 dollar nibs castle nut. With stock around 40 I probably paid close to 250 for just the buffer and stock assembly. The barrel is a fn cold hammer forged chrome lined I don’t think you get much better duty barrels except solgw or bcm
Idk if 30 cal gas blocks are bigger or not actually, that’d be what would affect that the most I’d say
Hey everyone, I’m new to the group. Looking at getting my first AR. Looking at the LEAD STAR ARMS GRUNT PISTOL - 10.5" .300 BLACKOUT W/ 10" HANDGUARD (CONCRETE GREY) and I’ll post a picture below. I’m curious can I put a silencer directly onto the gun or do I need to change handguards in order to have room? I don’t want to tuck the suppressor.
Cant tell really but almost looks like the muzzle device is tucked there. buddy has a psa10.5 556 with a flash can tucked in and looks like that.
Id say it is with the 10" handguard. You’d want the 9" or 9.5" I think. Probably have one already and wouldnt have to buy a new handguard.
Not sure about the mount, they’re so pricy seems like. I got that optic tho and i like it. Reticle and illumination are great. Eye relief seems good as far as i know.
I was wondering if the PSA AR I bought SKU 51655199680 can have its barrel replaced with SKU HR516551304224. This is my first AR that I want to use for up to 300 yards target shooting with lower grain rounds.

I was wondering if anyone knows of this would fit on there. (Was looking at doing that and swapping the brace to a Maxim pdw brace with JP silent capture springs and a Jp BCG for the ultimate quiet build). It already shoots fine so I hope I don’t make it not shoot subs after adding all this stuff
