About the JAKL category

Does this model (SKU: 51655140254) Come with the RBT hyperfire or do any other JAKL models come with it?

OK. No meaning to change your subject about the 8.6…. Just couldn’t figure out how to post here unless a reply. Sorry I’m old. I’m just wondering if the JAKL will be offered with a FN CHF barrel option in any caliber? So I guess that covers the 8.6 as well.

Not at this time. Perhaps in the future.

Why wouldn’t PSA offer this JAKL lower in 300BLK:

PSA JAKL COMPLETE RIFLE LOWER 5.56 NATO MOE EPT ZHUKOV STOCK, ODG SKU 51655152012

I’m sure I’m missing something, just not sure what. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi, I recently purchased a Jakl Lower and then ordered a 16” Upper from PSA. The upper arrived today but I can’t get the rear pin in the lower to go through the rear pin in the upper to secure the two together. Given it is brand new I am hesitant to tap it with a mallet. Any thoughts? Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi @anesmercenary is it lining up or misaligned?

Take down pins need a “wear in” and yes i have used rubber mallots (a gunsmithing hammer sized one) to tap in take down pins. Put a little oil on them and work them in and out a few times and they loosen up.

Seems more mis aligned. I can’t even get the pin to squeeze into the whole. I’m seeing som marks from where it is hitting the rear upper receiver hole. Let me see if I can take a picture and post it. I will try a gunsmithing mallet a few taps.

Post some pics for sure. If.you do have to sand anything, always sand the pin and not the receiver. Pins are easy to replace.

Thanks for your reply’s. I really appreciate it. So I was able to tap it through with a bit of gun grease and an armor’s brass mallet. It took some working as it is brand new and never fired, so you can understand my hesitation. Not to bad getting into the upper receiver hole, quite a bit harder coming out the other side of the lower receiver. Once it was in I had to use a plastic punch to push it back out. Once it was in it locked the front pin in and I couldn’t pull it out by hand in the usual fashion. I still cannot pull it out by hand and it is tight as a tick even after putting it in and out a few times. I don’t see a real significant wear marks on the upper or lower receiver contact points which might indicate it is binding some where on the fit of the two complete parts, upper and lower. So I may try the sanding of the pin. Any suggestions on how to do that or what grit to start with?

I go 200+. Lapping compoud if you have it also works. Some folks would beg for a super tight fit. It could simply be a tolerance issue with the coatings PSA uses.

You can see a bit of steel looking half-moon wear at about the 1000-1100 o’clock position. Here you can see a slight mushrooming effect on the left side of the pin. I’m pretty sure that was from tapping it through with the mallet. I do see a mark from the Bolt in the upper receiver where it looks like it is making contact with the lower receiver at the top of the buffer. I bet this is where it’s binding. Any thoughts about that?
(Ignore the black mark on the L of the lower receiver, it was plastic that broke off the plastic pin set I had to use to hammer the pin back out each time I got it all the way through.)

So i would try a different pin to see if the pin is at fault. If not, i would contact CS and see what they think. You will need your order # for contacting CS.

Sounds good. Appreciate you interacting with me on this issue. Cheers.

I would contact CS.
