So release date on the jakl? I have money that is wasting away in my bank account.
Will there ever be a 16ā or more Jakl?
I have a question about the adjustable gas block.
My rifle shipped with the āSā marked valve installed. I swapped it with the standard knob and test fired it with some 55gr .223 brass ammo. It would not cycle at all on the wide open setting (position 1).
I can get it to cycle with 62gr 5.56mm (PPU and Winchester) in the 1 position but will either fail to eject or short stroke on position 2. I would think it would be overgassed as position 2 is supposed to be for standard target loads?
Hey I am a gunsmith, armorer , who primarily does personal protection for high risk clients. I have been reviewing and researching the LWRC PSD in 6.8 SPC and would like to see PSA get into the 6.8 SPC market in the JAKL platform. I believe having the total manufacturing process in house would bring to the market a caliber that brings more to the table than the 5.56 and would give the Civilian market the new caliber the military has switched their rifles too. Oh and since PSA has its own ammo manufacturing bringing quality purpose built ammo should be a breeze as well. I like the 300 blk idea but 6.8 SPC piston in a JAKL platform will be way more exciting .
I just got my Jakl in 556. Has anyone run theirs with 223 ammo? I ran a few mags with 55gr 223 and I had some feeding issues. Is there a break in period or something also I was using lancer mags. I did change gas settings but it still had issues. Iāve used this same ammo in all my ARs with no issues.
I would like to replace the muzzle device on my Jakl and do not want to damage the upper. What tool or method would be best to secure the upper receiver to do the job? I have an action rod, and also padded inserts for my vise. Neither seem to be the most secure approach given the upper design. Please advise.
Hey I know this probably isnāt the best way to do it but I attach the upper to my lower and insert an empty mag checking multiple times to insure itās empty and use a standard muzzle device wrench (armorerās wrench) resting the mag against my body and Iām able to loosen just about any off. Iāve done it about 100 times this way and havenāt broken anything yet.
When is it a good time to buy a JAKL? Iāve seen some YouTube video about the new variety of different caliber for the JAKL in shot show. Should I wait or just purchase one? Iām torn because I love the new caliber option they will be displaying. In your opinion will it be cheaper than the current models or slightly more expensive? Just food for thought.
Is there a general timeline for new parts, or are we leaning towards the āhurry up and waitā side of things? Iām genuinely excited to see what PSA (or even sister/partner companies) will have to offer for stock and hand guard options.
Trying to decide if I have to jump on the bandwagon with an overbuilt stock or find a cheap temporary solution to hold me over.
Just use a standard wrench to turn CCW it off. I did it to mine to pin-weld extension ābarrelā (faux suppressor).
Thanks for the advice. I eventually bought the Magpull Bev Block. It seemed to work well. Unlike some other products Iāve purchased from PSA, which were highly over torqued, the flash hider came off with not much effort.
Does anyone know if a Jakl upper will work on a Sabre Billet lower?
@razer7 I believe so. Youāll need to order the picatinny attachment that goās inplace of the buffer tube.
If you order the JAKL upper, it comes with the nessecery bolt catch that youāll need to swap out on your SABRE lower.
So PSA Sabre and JAKL 13.7 Pin and Welds say they use a JMAC Custom GFHCE flash hider, and that this flash hider is not compatible with the Dead Air Nomad and some Silencer Co suppressors. I contacted JMAC about what suppressors do work with this flash hider, and they pointed me to a video which comments that new production 13.7 Pin and Weld rifles have a newer GFHCRE flash hider that works with these incompatible suppressors. I have seen other people say this is true, but PSAās website still lists these as using the older GFHCE flash hider. Is anyone able to confirm these newer GFHCRE flash hiders are actually being used instead? Thanks.
@jks11299 it is my understanding these are still the old ones. Perhaps @sean.psa or @Josiah_PSA could update us better. They may need to contact emgineering so it may take a bit.
Following up on this. Will report back with an answer.
All of the new 13.7" come with the GFHCR-E which is compatible with the suppressors that were not previously
Hello @sean.psa, are there any plans to offer a JAKL in 308/7.62 NATO (JAKL-H)?
I have been trying to get Psa to do a 6.8 for about a year now hopefully with more people asking it will happen
