AK - 104 Wood furniture

Hi all,

I’ve been eyeing the PSA AK - 104 for a while as I think it would be cool to have a rifle that has the reliability of an AK47 but the accuracy of an AR15 at range with 5.56. I am wondering however, if PSA is planning on equipping any AK - 104s with the redwood furniture that comes with many other AK’s. That would be really awesome. Anyone else have the same question or an answer?

Thanks!

PSA AK 104……IS as accurate as an AR.
It is HOWEVER a completely different animal than the AR-15.
The AR is more akin to Leggo blocks….where 99% of parts & accessories will simply fit.
The AK has NO industry Specification of uniformity….each maker of AK’s & accessories may not fit a different brand of AK……without minor hand fitting. Sometimes the parts will fit perfectly……and your lucky !
Often minor hand fitting with a file or sand paper is required to fit parts.

If you enjoyed putting together your AR……you will also LOVE getting your AK put together with the parts & accessories that you want. You may have to talk with others….or watch videos….but in the end you WILL become somewhat of an AK enthusiast ! There is SO much more satisfaction in putting together your own version of the AK you have envisioned….than an AR.

Get your PSA AK-104 ! and begin the process of modifying it to what you dream of. It’s a great shooting carbine, accurate and never failing.
The only problem with AK 104….is that you will inevitably run low on ammunition. I purchased one simply to spend some time shooting with one of my sons………but holy cow !...it has quickly turned into one of my favorite guns……converting me from a Never AK……to an AK-Enthusiast !

Sorry…….I got a little carried away and neglected your question about the Red wood stocks for the AK 104.
The grip and the upper & lower hand guards are easily attached to AK 104.
But that stock will require extra effort.

  1. AK104 is a pistol. You will need to NFA your AK104 to put a Stock on it.
  2. After it’s reg as a SBR….you could either change the rear trunion to accept the stock……or get the rear stock slightly modified to fit the 4.5mm side folding mechanism that is on the AK104.
Much easier just to have the brace on it……good luck….either way.

As the AK-104 is one of our newer models, I’m not sure what the plans are for releasing different configurations at this time. I can ask though, and if I get any sort of definitive answer I’ll come back and post it here. In the mean time, the best way to find out new releases is to keep checking the website. We have been known to put together a configuration last minute to see what it would look like, love it, and release it all in the same day. This is how the GF3 “Moekov” was born.

Ok……I was at a gun show today and I saw a PSA AK-104 with a folding stock on it……it had a 3.5 inch muzzle device that was “Pinned & Welded” in place making it 16 inch legal length carbine. I am impressed that PSA is making a variety of these AK-104’s ….they have just about every model conceivable that someone might want….so there it is……. With a little effort you could conceivable put the Red Wood Stock, pistol grip & hand guards on the AK-104. But remember that stock IS going to be an “interesting” project….it won’t be a simple part swap. It will require inletting for the folding device….and inletting the side to clear the optic mount. It can be done….ind it’s will be well worth the effort when it’s completed.
