AK-V Bolt Issue

Hi, first post here.
I have an AK-V that I bought in 2020. On its first trip to the range I had a couple of bad rounds, and each time the bolt would nor open on. It had to have the charging handle struct on the table to open. I sent it in for a review and possible repair. I was told that they could not duplicate the situation. On the next trip to the range it did not have any bad rounds, so no problem.
But right now it is beside my nightstand with a new round in it (Hornady Critical Defense), and I cannot pull the bolt back to eject the round. It has been like this for months. This is certainly not like any AK I have ever had, and that has been a few. The net effect is that I do not trust it like I want to. I really like the gun and it is fun to shoot and accurate for what it is.
So, do I buy a new bolt? Will an AKM bolt work or do I have to have a specific PSA bolt?
Any help will be appreciated.

Mortor it. It will come open. Also, have you cleaned/lubed the chamber?

Edit, you have to use the PSA bolt. More than likely it isnt the bolt, but a sticky chamber.

Yes, I cleaned it and used a good bit of TW25 B grease.
I guess the sticky chamber would be problematic to solve?

You used grease in the chamber? If so, clean that out.
You can use oil or grease on the moving parts, like the bolt.

No, just greased the bolt

Ok, so take the bolt out. Drop a round in the chamber. Turn the gun upside down and see if the round falls out. If it does, something is binding with the bolt/gas system.

That appears to be it. The round inserts into the chamber easy enough but it will not drop out. After I bump the stock on the floor sharply the bolt closes and then it will eject normally when you work the bolt.
So how do I fix the chamber?
This is the offending unit.

Polish it. Clean it real good with something like Hoppes #9 and a brush first. If it still stays stuck use a little CLP on some steel wool (dont press hard, go lightly) and rotate it in the chamber (you can wrap a qtip with the steel wool of that helps).

You can find tutorial vids on youtube.

Thanks for your help

My AR-V had the same issue when new. It was/is a fairly common issue with the AR-V but this is the first I’ve heard of it occurring with an AK-V. I called CS, sent it in and they quickly took care of the problem. You should call them and ask to send yours in for repair as well.
