I’ve had my AK-V for a couple weeks now, and though it does OK once I get the rounds into battery, on the first round of every magazine the bolt will not go all the way into battery. Then it will not grab the round and extract, so I have to slingshot the bolt again to try and get it into battery. This usually fixes the problem, but it is a major problem by my estimation, and frustrating is an understatement. After searching around I can see that I’m not the only one who has experienced this issue. Must I send this $1k gun back to PSA for weeks just to get it fixed? For clarity, I will add that I have tried several types of ammo including Remington, Wolf, PMC, Winchester…Mostly 115 grain, some 124 grain, and all FMJ. What gives?
Are you holding onto the mag by chance or around the handguard?
I’m holding by the hand guard. I never hold by the mag.
This really gives me a sour taste for PSA. There is no excuse for allowing this gun to make it out the door if it had even a brief moment of QC. It does this with every mag, every time, so I am led to believe their QC is literally non existent. So they have a warranty? Great. They need one. Why not just send them out working properly the first time? This will be my last purchase with PSA.
PSA will make it right. If you judge a company on a single firearm though then i guess you wont own any firearms, especially not a Sig.
Edit: you will find many users on this forum who have AK-Vs that work right out the door. Post some pics and maybe we can help.
