I’m not sure when that will happen.
The ammo manufacturers have zero incentive to increase their Primer production capacity.
They are making more money than ever, with the higher prices.
I don’t begrudge them that, it takes a lot of expensive hard automation to set up a primer manufacturing line.
Plus the Federal/ CCI/ etc. chemical engineers have to pay for their American “health care”. A nearly infinite number, at this point.
“Stabilized” means different things to different people.
I used to wait till Midsouth or Powder Valley had all the powders I needed in stock.
Right now these are the powders I have on my shopping list -
for 308 -
IMR 4198
IMR 3031
Reloder 7
Vihtavuori 120 if available, just want to try it, don’t need it.
for 6.8 SPC
Accurate 2230
Hodgdon H335
Ramshot TAC & XTerm
for 6.5 Creedmoor
IMR 4831 & 7828SSC
So waiting for all those to be available at the same time … Talk about waiting for “the stars to line up”.
Probably I need to settle for maybe buying 5 powders in one order.
As for primers - I watch the bulletin board at the range CLOSELY.
Bought my last 2000 large rifle primers from there.
ESTATE SALES - maybe a good place to buy firearms stuff. They can’t advertise the firearms stuff on Craigslist, but you can always contact the seller on the side.
