How is this action going to affect the AK 47 community now that Biden has banned imported ammo as of first weeks of Sept?
In effect, he has removed ammo acquisition as we know it.
It’s plentiful and not as expensive right now. However, tomorrow…
Maybe we can get the Taliban to give us some guns and ammo. After all Biden let them have it free of charge.
I’ve been loading up 5.56 every time I can find a pack of primers. I’ve been thinking of picking up a set of dies for the x39 and bulking up on brass casings. Might be a good time to start.
Where is everyone getting this 7.62x39 part of it?
This effects all calibers imported from Russia from what i can tell. 9mm, .223, 45acp, .308, 300blk, 38spl, and even .22lr is made by Wolf/Tula and exported from russia.
This effects prices of ALL popular calibers. That fancy S&W shield the young single woman next door bought for home protection is as useful as a good boot when a box of ammo is $80/50.
From what I’ve heard it doesn’t effect existing import contracts. Once the contracts run out who knows. It won’t dry up, just might cost more. Probably start buying brass cased ammo at prices that will be more in line with other calibers. Good for reloaders.

dang it. I had just finally decided to build me an AR in 7.62x39 because of the CHEAP AMMO.
Well it doesn’t affect existing contracts, so more will be coming in from what I understand. But it will affect all future contracts.
I ordered a set of dies last night. Screw them, I’ll roll my own!

1st Russia isn’t the only maker, this ban affects only Russian made & Russian stocked (that which is in Russia can’t come here even if it is a stock pile of ammo made somewhere else) Russia is not the only maker of 7.62x 39 guess who else makes the ammo that was ban from Russia by Beijing Biden 
So Biden hurts American Gun owners, Hurts Russia and helps his buddies in China all in one state department move that requires no dealing with (Your Representatives) Congress
DAMN I bet some ammo maker in China is about to start a Hunter Biden Art Gallery with all those paintings they will be buying.
As I understand it, we are talking the Government. . . . each shipment is a “contract” not some multiyear contract between the importer and the Russians. So we are talking just a few weeks at most 2 months and the flow will effectively have dried up.
The Ukraine also produces 7.62x39 and 5.45x39. My LGS carries it at the same price as Russian. Maybe the consumers need to hope that the importers are courting the Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, and all the other former Soviet States/Satellites that have the capacity to produce and fill the gap. There is a crap load of money on the table here, let hope good old fashion capitalism solves the problem.
And it’s not at all like the Russians to have a stunning increase in production in the Ukraine plant while having millions of Russian rounds somehow go missing. . . . .
This is a stunt more that real damage, The State Department being “Cute” when a Republican asks for $$$ for his election run, you all remember to talk to him about the State Department and ATF needing Budget cuts, and on how his/her commitment to those budget cuts is the only way they are going to see any of your hard earned $$$
Republicans won’t do squat. Nothing. The Republicans are just a speed bump on the road to a one Party System to Communism. IMO-I won’t believe anything that comes out of a established republicans mouth until I see some perp walks straight to jail.
This ammo ban is identical to the Russian gun ban situation under Barack Hussein Obama. Everyone was worried that we wouldn’t be able to buy ak rifles and the 12ga saiga shotgun. What happened instead was a huge increase in domestic and Turkish output. In 10 years we went from have a few 12ga semi auto shotguns to having dozens. Sleepy Joe is making Russia seem like our true enemy to distract us from China and our currupt government leaders.
