Ammo, how are you doing it? Still Rushing to buy?

Went to a funshow and found everything I needed. Prices for primers sucked but $125 a brick was digestible. Got a few boxes of 150gr 30 cal bullets for $23 a box of 100. Powder was a bit pricy to at just over $45 for 1 LB of CFE-BLK. Do the math and it comes to about $8 for a 20rd box of ammo. About what I was paying for 7.62x39 steel Russian crap before all this and my loads are more accurate. Bullets for the .223 was a bit higher but the powder cost less so my .223 loads are about the same price give or take. Price ain’t the big part of the story. The thing is, I got lots of PewPew and I won’t run out for a while. And heck, forget about the 9mm. It’ll take a while before I put a dent in my stores.

I do have a bit of a back stock (As you now seem to) so I can take a pass on those $125 bricks, but sadly that $100 mark is where I start getting tempted to buy as well. It’s so sad that our government is the source of the market instability. If Conservatives dominate the next two elections, we will both look the fool with Thousands of 10 cent primers when the price will be back down to half that. But if the elections go the other way, you may have just insured your retirement at the Funshow.

Right in the beginning of all this I was having trouble finding pistol primers. A buddy of mine that used to be into combat pistols but stopped when the baby came along had a nice stock pile. 50,000 primers. He sold me a brick for $40. I don’t think we’ll see those days again. At $125 a brick, I think I’ll grab some from time to time and if the price comes down, I’ll grab 2.

The times, they are a changing.

I guess this means open season on unicorns.

So after a lot of hem hawing and watching the prices slowly drop, I decided to just load my own. I bought the reloader and have red a ton on how to mix the parts for different types of “loads” I have really enjoyed playing around to find what works best for me. I appreciate all the comments and guidance. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts

No, I’m good.

Dang bro. Take a day off and go to the range!

Makes me jelly in me jellies. I have a healthy reserve but you have me beat, handily. Im with SP though, go make some noise! Box here, box there, keep that rust off.

Some days I only load 4 bullets.

But it mounts up.

Plus we only have a few days left to do wildfire fuels reduction, so the bullets aren’t getting used so much right now.

Is that “a few days” before pantifa starts burning down our forests again?
15 years ago I started buying a 550- or 500-round brick of .22LR every payday, unless I bought other ammo. Should have kept that up, but I’ll try to restart. Also, have reduced my caliber intake  although the KS47 changed that a little.

im not buying any ammo… havent in probably a year. i still have all this ne reloading equipment to sell too… since i decided not to reload at all… so yeah, eventually i’ll be buying more ammo, but right now im good, now to just sell my reloading equipment.

Just got a bit today. I have a really small arms budget. Tough choosing between arms, parts, magazines, and ammo with every cent! Especially since I don’t know what is going to get banned first, or next.

Same here. Havent bought much of anything in the last 6 months or so

It’s all about time management.

for example, a box of 20, 308 bullets for $18, with good brass … sure I could load that many but I don’t have an automatic scale.

If I can get one session shooting steel with the store-bought ammo (after shooting paper targets using re-loads) … what the heck.
