Ar 7.5

any benefits to building a 7.5” AR upper? i already have a 11.5. was thinking of building a super shorty 5.56…. Besides it looks super duper….any Pros? Cons?

super loud and muzzle blast is severe

Waste of a 5.56 round IMO. Tons of noise and flash and not enough barrel to get the most efficiency out of the round. If you’re gonna go that short, think about .300 blackout or 9mm.

Besides keyholing rounds.

benefits are super loud, and a killer flame. plus uber concealable depending on how you do it and in what caliber. ive got some that are uber short, and others that are normal and others still long… but personally i’d do it in a heart beat, cause i have.. on many diffeernt calibers. just depends on what you wanna build at the time.

never had anything shorter than 10.3 in 5.56, i have an 8.3 in 9mm and a 4.5 in 22lr.

it’s great within 100yards, idk why someone would prefer it but it’s not bad at all if you need something short.

I’m an old geezer so I grew up with the Shotgun News, machine gun news, COLT, DPMS pamphlets. etc….. pre- interweb days…. And I always love to look of the DPMS kitty kat and DOE 9mm sub gun…. So for me it’s more of a kickback to my early youth.

I thought that was a Bonus? Like two Drunks arguing ballistics:

“Wanna Bet on that?”

I bought one of these on a whim to build-out a lower I won from PSA

Has a special “Loudener” on the muzzle, that holds the end of the MOE handguard - it’s a flamethrower in the daytime - a blaster-beast at night. Serves no particular purpose, I would certainly hate to be forced to use one inside.

If you know what you’re getting yourself into, and have a reasonable expectation, and don’t really care about “usefulness”, it’s great fun.

Terrible choice for a primary AR pistol, though.

yeah thats a very nice little contraption you have there. its so small it looks like it could almost fit in a fanny pack lol

When I bought an AR-V, I got the Idea. Folding receiver is the trick.

so…is that a suppressor or a flash Can, in the front? If it’s a flash can how bad is The Flash?

If it’s a Marauder (which it appears to me to be) it would be a PSA proprietary muzzle device / handguard clamp.

The Marauder upper comes with that Flash Can installed.

It is still Loud as Hell and throws giant flameballs.

The receiver I used was made by 17 Designs.

Unfornunately they are out of business now.

It wasn’t from a lack of Quality, just issues within the company.

I’d build a 300 black out not a 5.56. I’m going to build a 8.5 or 9.5 300 black out.
