Armaspec SRS H

Does anyone have the Stealth Recoil Spring from Armaspec?
I purchased one for a PSA mid length gas system and i can’t get the gun to cycle at all. 55gr and 62gr ammo with 16 inch barrel it short strokes and will not pick up next round. So i tried it in carbine length and one with adjustable gas block. None will cycle with SRS but all will cycle with normal buffer and spring. Anyone that can help…thanks in advance

Just use the normal spring and buffer?
:man_shrugging:

Unfortunately, I can’t help with ArmaSpec, no experience. I can say that I’ve used the Geiselle Super 42 with a mid-length and a carbine length and it worked fine. Just an alternative if you can’t get that SRS to work.

Thats what im doing. Dont need an unreliable gun. Hoping to find someone using it on here

I have 1 in a carbine length system . Runs fine.
Sorry, a quick google shows i have a gen2 smb.
not the same thing.

I have 2 rifles with Armaspec SRS buffer systems. They work great. I had a G2 or G3 in one of the rifles and the split ring broke. When I contacted them and sent some pictures they sent me a G4, they had changed it so they didn’t use the split ring. Just wondering, are you sure you don’t have it in backwards? Black rubber end goes in first. What weight did you get? I have an H and an H2.

No… its installed correct. I had the gen 3 and spring was weak. Sent it in and they sent me a gen 4. It is an H weight. My son in law has a gen 3 and has the identical setup and his runs great. Installed the gen 4 in his rifle and same issue. Its baffling. I will say this… the spring on this gen 4 is considerably stronger than his gen 3. Im wondering if it needs some breaking in.
Also put his gen 3 in my gun and it ran perfect

Strange. I had all 3 that I had (counting the one that broke) in both my rifles. All worked fine. I finally settled with the H in the AR-47 and the H2 in the 5.56.

It is strange… im gonna work the spring next range session and see what happens

Sounds to me like you got a bad one. If I were to guess? I’d say heat treat fail.

I use the SMBs in all my builds

Love them

Run flawless in my guns

Some of use don’t like that annoying twang, and prefer a silent buffer system

I’ll NEVER run anything but in my ARs…

This quiets the twang and reduces felt recoil. Well the gen 3 did. This one is sitting on work bench doing nothing:rofl::rofl:

So you have a 5.56/.223 16” mid length that an H won’t cycle?

Yes sir… mid length (2) …a carbine length and one with an adjustable gas block. The agb is a pinned and welded 16 inch. Dont know that that matters tho

If you have a bathroom/kitchen scale that’s fairly accurate do a push test and see where the spring starts to compress compared to the one you’re running now. It should show a bad heat treat rather quickly.

/Why a pinned and welded 16"?

It is an older build my uncle had and its pinned/welded to make overall length 16 inch. Tbh not sure why. I got it when he passed

I will try the scale deal. I didnt even think about that… main reason i come to the forum… thanks

Uncle was a retired marine that did some crazy things to some ARs lol

I don’t have anything with an adjustable gas block, nor anything in carbine gas systems that is a complete build.

I have an 8” 300 Blackout pistol that took an H SMB to cycle both supers, and subs, non suppressed. The pistol buffer setup was garbage

Everything I currently have runs great. Which besides the 300 Blackout is two 16” rifles, mid length gas system, with H SMB…

I’m now building an AR47, 16” rifle, carbine gas system, and have bought an H2 SMB for this build. Not complete, haven’t shot it yet.

I’m also building an AR9, that I bought an SMB for 9mm. Build isn’t complete, haven’t shot.

I also have two H2 SMBs waiting in standby to improve characteristics of my existing 3 ARs.
