Now it’s a workbench. Lol. I work all day running my mouth for a living. It’s nice to come home and tinker and learn how to build and properly clean guns. I see many more builds going down right here. Thanks guy for all of the advice

Nice build. Move your rear sight all the way back.

I’m thinking about putting this 3.5x10 on this. upper. Will I need to saw the front sight post off? Or is there a way to mount the scope and still use the open sights.

You will shoot through the front site post. It will simply be a small blur. Get a good mount that you can easily remove if you want to use iron sights.

Next step is to the range to sight in. :muscle:

Did I position the scope mount right? I put it all way to the back. Once I’m sight it in I’ll adjust the scope back or forward.

Move the scope forward. To make sure its at the right position, first extend the buttstock to your length of pull. Then put the scope where you can see the entire eyebox comfortably.

Some folks use the “nose to charging handle” method with AR’s. I prefer to have the rear scope objective over my rear BUIS, and just forward of the charging handle so as not to intefer with me gripping it.
