BLEM Uppers

I have greater needs, but those mid length blem uppers have been catching my eye too :hocho:

For the price plus the fact I can’t find a single thing wrong with it, it’s a great deal. I haven’t shot side by side a carbine length and a midlength, but I read that the mid is smoother for 16" barrels. I also like that it fits a bayonet just right.

Mids are much smoother. Both my 6.8s are like butter and they are mids.

Cool, I’m guessing that’s the case with other calibers too?

Yes. You have more dwell time with a mid.

That’s why I want(ed) one. Don’t NEED a bayonet, but they’re cool, and hunting hogs in southeast Texas swamp jungles you never know . . .

Thought it was the other way around… less dwell time and the carbine has too much.

Oh yeah, gotta have a bayonet for when SHTF!!!

A mid length is longer than a carbine. The gas has to travel farther from the chamber to the gas block, and then back to the bcg. That takes more time.

Pistol length<carbine<mid<rifle

Edit: it depends on your definition of dwell time. If you are referring to the bullet, then you are correct, because the bullet has more time between the gas port and the muzzle. If gas(which is what I was referring to), then see above.

Right, I was in the understanding that dwell time was the bullet time from the gas port to the muzzle. Not the gas through the gas tube. Perhaps the official definition includes both? But I see what you were referring to now.

I’ve see it described both ways.

My upper is supposed to be here Monday

Out for delivery.

Me camping outside my local UPS store waiting on my upper.

(All my UPS deliveries go to the local UPS store because our UPS delivery driver is a pussy and scared to come up my driveway)

So while I have plenty of photos that equal or rival that one, that’s just some stock Google photo I found :joy:

For the sake of transparency…

Anyway, my upper awaits me at the UPS store…

Off I go :+1:t3:

does it make me a bad person if I feel a little jealous right now. Aaaa, just kidding, Good deal :+1:

The “scary” part of my driveway is a 25% grade. It rises 40 feet in a 160 foot run.

Add a few feet of snow and it can get interesting.

Now, the reason I have this home, the previous owner died here.

He took his ATV down to get the mail, and something happened. He overshot the driveway and went over the edge falling about 25 feet to the street below. The ATV landed on top of him and killed him. A CDOT driver plowing the street found him. That is a sad fact.

The Rocky Mountsins are beautiful. But they never stop trying to kill you…
