So I got my two blemished (PSA’s idea of blemished is quite different than mine) OD MOE Stealth lowers today. Are you serious? I looked all over those things, expecting something to call a blemish. I found NOTHING on either one. I almost don’t want to put them away for fear I’ll scratch them up in the safe. Maybe I’m somehow just abnormally lucky with these two, but, for $150 (each) shipped, there is no beating this. Now I’m just waiting until the right “blemished” uppers go on sale so I can pair them up and have a couple more complete ARs at astonishingly low cost.
Kudos, PSA. You sucked me in yet again with the unbeatable deal and free shipping on those lowers and have stumped me on finding a single thing wrong with either of them. I guess it was just a matter of time…
This is nothing new. I have bought a few myself and never found any blemishes. The only thing that I ever saw was some very minor milling marks on the inside of the lower that didn’t show on the outside or affect anything.
I just recently ordered a blemished AR-10 lower at a discount (out for delivery to the FFL today). I’ve been wanting to try and paint one. Figured the blemishes wouldn’t matter but if mine comes in like yours I may just have to set it aside.
I’ve picked up a couple of “blemished” stripped lowers recently - can’t find the blemishes. I know for a fact I’m gonna do more damage to the finish putting them together than they shipped with.
I almost feel guilty about taking advantage of the sale price! Almost…
I’ve bought 2 of their classic freedom kits. First one had a super small discoloration on the front post sight. I couldn’t find anything on the second one. The not supposed to be a blem, PA10 I got from them wasn’t so lucky. It had enough scratches for both of them to make up for the 2 kits.
I agree but don’t speak it into existence lol. I’ve purchased 3 AR15 lowers without a (BLEMISH) on them and went to bragging about how it’s the best deal and they’re perfect lowers then BOOM this lower I just received on 7-9-21 was a true blemished lower. It has scratches all on the buffer tube bad, luckily I have a aero precision tube laying around so I’ll swap it out…. But hey 130.00 for a complete pistol lower I’d buy one again. PSA will still get my business
Yep, I accept that my guns are going to get scratched up eventually anyway, so I’m more than willing to take my chances at these prices with free shipping!
I bought a blemished AR9 and couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Not really worried about it since I know it will get used quite a bit and will eventually have scratches anyway.
I’m beginning to think their not really blemished at all?? maybe it’s a way PSA uses to sell some over stock items on the cheap, the blem complete lowers are cheaper then I can build them ! I hope I have the same luck as everyone else just purchased a OD green 16" blem upper, it will be my first PSA rifle…Fingers crossed
The real test for me should be tomorrow. So, I was holding out for free shipping, but my FOMO got the best of me again. I’ve got two “blemished” uppers arriving via UPS. With those, I’ll be able to finish my twin fully Magpul PSA mid-length ARs (rear sights included) for less than $500 each. I bought some camo paints to Krylon them if the blems are noticeable, but at this point, I’m not sure I’ll need them.
If I can’t find any significant blems on the uppers, it’ll easily be the best I’ve ever done on any AR purchase, let alone two at once. Oh, special thanks to Uncle Joe for all but paying for them…
I just got a blem upper and then ordered a blem lower. yeah, my timing was a bit off, but it worked out. I’m an aerospace quality engineer so looking for blemishes is a part of what I do. Right off I notice a discoloration on one side of the lower. It would fail in our shop and we would have held it until the customer screamed for a part. I still haven’t found the blem on the upper. Just don’t know where it would be. (honestly, I don’t want to look too hard either!) This is a great rifle for an off the rack blem and at a great price.
Yup, I got one of these lowers to go with my upper too! The FFL dealer couldn’t find anything wrong with it and I couldn’t find anything til I got home and extended the stock. The buffer tube looks like it was unfinished when it went for anodizing. Its not bad, I’m not worried about it. I wish I could afford a half dozen of them! You can’t find all the features in store bought ones that these blems have for less than $800. Only thing separate to buy is a magazine!
No blemishes found so no paint needed. I swapped out the hand guards to match, added the red dots and slings and they’re done. Twin $500 mid length ARs.
Very nice, Dan! Mine will be fraternal twins when I’m done. Lol! Can’t tell from the pic, but are your uppers marked “freedom” like I just posted about in the Blem Uppers thread?
Not anywhere I have noticed it. Is there a particular spot I should be looking for the markings? Both my uppers and lowers are generally pretty generic.
Picked mine up a few days ago. With EPT $139. Wanting PSA mid length MOE 16" upper to go with it. Bought one 2 years ago, paired it with Aero 20" Moe upper.
I mean on the barrel. I posted a pic in the other thread showing the barrel markings of 2 freedom series complete uppers I got from PSA. One says “Freedom” after “5.56 NATO 1/7” right in front of the FSB. I’ve been really curious about the other differences between them ever since I noticed those differences I mentioned.
