This isn’t going to affect Putin much, it was more about Prigozhin wanting to keep the money coming into Wagner as long as possible. Putin’s takeover of Wagner threatened Prigozhin’s bottom line. Nothing more than that.

The thing that is most concerning to me in that article is that one the “missing” generals is/was in possession of one the nuclear footballs. If he has actually been disappeared then okay. But if he has gone rogue and joined up with Prigozhin in Belarus then it becomes a much more serious and dangerous situation. Even 1 nuke launched would be disastrous.

Yes sir you make a very valid point. I’ve thought all along that Prigozhen going to Belarus without his army was suspicious, but he hasn’t come this far being stupid. I would not doubt he has Surovikin on his side and the two of them are working together.

Surovikin is probably sitting in a basement cell at Lefortovo waiting for a 9mm headache cure from an FSB agent. There’s very little chance the nuke codes are still with him. He’s listed as a VIP of Wagner. Is it possible that he was able to get a heads up from Prigozhin fast enough to elude his minders and make a break for it? Sure, that’s possible, but he knows his family will pay for it.
The FSB hasn’t changed much from the KGB which hadn’t changed much from the NKVD which hadn’t changed much from the Bolsheviks. Commies love their history and tradition.
EDIT: Yeah, they got him. He’s probably being interrogated with methods far more…aggressive…than anything done at Gitmo. After which, he will be marched down a hall back to his cell and someone will simply walk up behind him and it’ll all be over.
Pretty much. Once people realize the Russian aristocracy is essentially the Mafia writ large, a lot of stuff starts to make sense. Russians have been accepting it as a cost of doing business since the tsars.

My backyard is a mountainside that starts out at about 10 degrees and then goes to 40 degrees about halfway up. It’s a little over 1900 feet long, with BLM land above that.
