CCW when you have physical limitations

I would NOT recommend a PPK for any kind of a carry weapon. As an owner of one, they are heavy, unwieldy, difficult to rack, have crappy sights, and being straight blowback are not pleasant to shoot and the slide can bite you. Not to mention you can’t carry them cocked and locked. I bought one because it’s awesome looking and James Bond nostalgia, but that’s the only reason to own one IMO.

Something modern like the LCP Max literally does everything better. It’s significantly cheaper, lighter, recoils less, no chance of slide bite, better sights, you name it.

Barrel press is not an issue with the Bobcat/Tomcat line.

I’ve never owned a PPK… i’ve always wanted one, but in 380. Preferably i’d get one that is a 380 in black/blued and imported by interarms. but thats just my dream ppk. Good to hear about all that for carry gun use… i was only thinking about size when i had suggested it. since they pretty much suck for a carry gun, there is always Bersa.

I only want it for james bond nostaligia too.

Y’all are fantabulous. What an incredibly intelligent group that has assembled here. I’m being genuine and sincere. I appreciate all your input. I’ve got a 32ACP Tomcat Razor Back coming, $400 bucks out the door. If my wife hates it I’ve got a great little back up piece. Thanks again for all of you giving input. God Love ya.

Keep the thread rolling…BTW, grenades in the old bra was hilarious and I definitely share that with her. She will get a laugh out of it.

Thanks Y’all

They are very tight out of the box. If you need some break in tips from experience just ask.

well thanks! We try our best to be helpful! that’s a pretty good price on the tomcat… us Stephens must stick together!

I am also a Steve, however, I spell my name the right way

ah so you too spell it with the PH then…as the bible says to.

My name is Steven. Steve, as shortened.

Yours is Stephen. Steph, as shortened.

I had sainthood on my side right out of the gate. They knew i would need all the help i could get.

Not sure on specs for either of these…

Keltek P32 in .32acp, 10 round mags make it better, though the sights are horrific, being small pocket carry no-snag style. I carried mine in a thigh pocket for most of my EMS work. This was specifically engineered for low hand stregth racking of the slide.

Best of luck to your wife, for a speedy recovery. Gunbrother, I sold a .32 Beretta Tomcat to a club member’s wife related to her disability in racking a slide secondary to rheumatoid arthritis. It worked well for her, just be sure to only get factory mags for it. Another “Back off / Get off” item is the LCP / .380 or LCP Max /.380 (more rounds). Equip that Ruger with a Crimson Trace grip laser, because the sights are almost non-existent. You / she can carry that LCP anywhere you want–I used to go Physical Therapy with one in a “Bug-Bite” leg holster under my sweats–no ever noticed. I don’t know if you/ she would consider a wheel-gun, but a Ruger LCR in .22 WMR with JHP’s is very manageable-- my wife is able to attest to that. Lastly, another wheel-gun is another LCR would be in .38/ .357, with CCI # 4 shot, Red Caps ----it’s not yer’ grandpappy’s snake shot ! Best of luck on your choices, there are plenty out there.

hehe i beg to differ. i’ve never understood why folks knock on the biblical spelling so much. when i was in middle school and moved here… all the southern teachers (i came from VA) made the mistake of calling me Stephanie cause they couldnt read properly or something… and even then they wouldnt call me stephen,… they’d shorten it to Steve… every time… so by the 2nd month of living in SC, i became used to answering to Steve… and pretty much only people who call me stephen is my family members… even my wife and her family all call me Steve.

@steel.horses101 Amen Stephen… me too… me too…

You haven’t drank a Bud Light tonight have you Stephanie?

when did she get h ere?

or i could say my pronouns are He, him, his. thank you very much.

Ok, The Tomcat is here. Stiff as a honeymoon… well, it’s stiff. I’m ready for some break in tips, please.

Grease the buttons, pivot, and the slide friction points. Oil everywhere else and just keep working it. It’ll loosen up.

Excellent input on this thread brother. I’m sure you can break it in fine for her. My youngest daughter carries a Walther P-22 and she is very confident with it shooting, breakdown to clean and reassembled. She has several pistols but her EDC is the P-22. Best wishes
