Colt A2 Buttstock

My Colt A2 buttstock was delivered today. I purchased it from the AR15 Forum. It was described as a surplus A2 buttstock with trapdoor.
It is a really nice buttstock with hard plastic checkered butt plate with metal trapdoor. From my Google search, I believe it is a Colt Type E A2 buttstock. The length is a tad over 10.5 inches.
I will try to post photos. I have the A2 stock screw in hand. The H&R retro rifle buffer has been shipped from PSA and I am waiting on the A2 stock spacer, rifle buffer tube, and rifle buffer spring from Optics Planet (PSA was out of stock). Pictured with H&R retro 30 round magazine.

I am old school (64 years old , born in 1959 ) I carried the A1, A2 and GAU5P while in the USAF. Was in Air Support Operations Squadron (Airstrike Unit) while stationed in Germany. We were imbedded and under operational control of the US Army 1st Armored Division. Carried GAU5P during deployment to Bosnia with 1AD. I love the 20 Rd straight magazine look. I do not own any 30rd magazines . Seriously considering buying M-16 A1 kit in the future. For now, I mix old with new. this is my idea of retro:

i have a mess of those 20 rnd colt mags. theyre worth a good bit these days from what im told.
my xm16e, looks much like the first gun you posted, except it has no forward assist, and the lower has a partial fence around the mag drop button.

if you like these a lot you need to check out our Harrington And Richardson line… those are some awesome retro builds, and they keep growing as to what models they’re adding.
