Columbia Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook on Monday said police have arrested Marquise Love Robinson, 20. Authorities are also seeking a third suspect, Amari Sincere-Jamal Smith. Both men face charges of attempted murder and nine counts of aggravated assault and battery.

well supposedly that guy turned himself in and was defending himself, now there is some question as to weather he was a felon or not and could legally possess a weapon, even though he was obviously breaking the law by carrying it concealed without a permit… however oddly enough hed of been ok if he’d of carried it in the open…

After working in the correctional field for 15 years, it all comes down to cultural and personal values. It is not a gun problem, it is a value system issue related to violence and antisocial behaviors and lifestyles…
ok, i can get behind that some… my question is where did they get the antisocial and violence related lifestyles and behaviors. identifying the problem, or the location the problem originates is the first step to stopping the problematic behaviors.

Because metal detectors have been EXTREMELY effective at stopping shootings in American courthouses … when will they start using metal detectors in malls ?
i went up to columbiana mall yesterday for my wife to have her eye glasses adjusted at the lens crafters… we entered the doors down by the lens crafters that we always enter at… that have never been displayed as being posted no concealed carry… now there are 2 no concealed carry postings posted, one on either side of the doors… funny thing is, neither are the right size, nor right images, to be lawful concealed carry postings… so as far as im concerned improper postings means i am still within my rights to concealed carry there. Here’s the kicker… we’ve got open carry now, whats keeping us from open carrying in the mall, instead of concealed carrying? lol.
Yeah I wouldn’t worry about that little sign, Never have here in WV. Unless it’s a school or some sort, not by choice, or a federal/sate building or property, you won’t be restricting my right to defend myself or family. If it ever became an issue, on a personal level, I just wouldn’t handle business where ever.
well here in SC our cwp law is very specific regarding the size, position, font, graphic, colors etc of our NO CONCEALED WEAPONS sinage. it has to be a specifc size and font, and color and all that or its not legal and we can carry. Plus it has to be at every single entrance into the building. If its not at every single public entry to the mall, its not legal… so there you go.

That nice to hear. In WV it’s a non-issue, West Virginia does not enforce “No Weapons Allowed” signs. Other than the couple specific locations: schools/govt. buildings, it’s a pretty free State, as it should be across our great Nation.
I know of several malls where the main mall entrances are posted. Some with legal signs some not, but the stores with outside entrances are not posted. Law says once you are under that roof you can move freely anywhere.
I refuse to do business with anyone who posts those signs. Surprisingly, there is a well known gun shop/indoor range in Greenville that was posted against concealed carry and I would guess they taught more cwp classes than anyone in the upstate.
thats funny, and odd, about the shop / range that was posted like that. I’m usually like you to that i’d not do business with a specific company if they were posted , but somtimes i’d rather do a civil disobedience thing and shop there anyways. just depends on how bad i want what they have in that store i supppose.
That shop is where my wife and I took cwp training and certification. They offered one stop training, testing, finger printing etc. For a flat fee. I even bought a couple of firearms from them back in the day, but I am alot more hard core about carrying than I was back then.
Because Law Abiding Citizens banned from possessing firearms or other weapons certainly keeps Criminals from possessing them as well.
Gotta love a non-legal sign. The SC Law is VERY specific about sineage.
