So this afternoon theres been a shooting with injuries at the Columbiana Mall, right down the street from JJE and PSA Fernandina… at this time no one has came out and said how many injured, or if any deaths have occurred, also no one has said if the shooter or shooters have been captured or killed. They are setting up a news conference on the web, but im not seeing anything yet. I 26 exit ramp onto harbison is blocked off, so are all entrances and exits to and from the mall. The authorities are escorting folks and have “cleared” the mall. so im hopefull they have got the shooter-shooter(s).
if you guys hear or wanna discuss it more, i figured here would be good… Harbision and Columbiana on a saturday afternoon around 2pm is usually very busy, so the shooter had to have a target rich environment depending on why they were doing it.
Any shooting in a public setting against unarmed and/or peaceful people shopping with family and friends enjoying the day, with the intent to murder is sad. It wasn’t the gun that did it. There is a line of good and bad that cuts through the hearts of all humans…I hope those involved are alright, not dead and the Police stay safe.
Columbiana is posted on the main doors but no where else (and no other doors). I wouldn’t,be surprised if gang related based on how Harbison has changed.

12 injured, no fatalities. 2 shooters knew each other and had a conflict. 3 detained. == gang bangers.
Wont release the sex/race of detained. That tells you everything.
I’m betting the term “Ghost Gun” comes up fairly soon, whether it is true and accurate to this situation is irrelevant.
Surprisingly that term isn’t thrown around as much here in the midlands. But maybe because that is because i dont watch the news.
They arrested one of the detained for unlawful carry. Name and age matches a guy who previously was arrested as an accessory to murder…
i wouldnt be surprised if it is the same guy. the way the legal system works these days it wouldnt surprise me one bit.
I wonder how many truly were shooting… furthermore im wondering why in that environment there was no sheepdogs there to counter them.
IMO-The sheepdogs would have likely been the first to be arrested.

Columbiana will be a ghost town in 10 years just like all the other malls. Blame Columbia City counsel and Richland County counsel for redistributing the gang members to higher income areas after knocking down the projects. “Give them a place to be proud of and they will have pride in themselves and their communities!”

Emphasis on exactly why that won’t work. GIVE them a place… While one can certainly be grateful for a gift and appreciate it, there is no pride in something given. I can only speak for myself, but the things that I take pride in are those I’ve worked for or toward with my own effort and investment, be it physical, financial, or even just emotional.
