I Recently bought a M&P fpc rifle for its compact design and 9mm caliber, large capacity magazines and folding ability to 16in. That small compact design fits my small compact body build and arm length and height. The ability to move and fire is more fluid and makes you feel safer in urban/home settings .Due to increased weapon target acquisition and weapons movement to fit your body style to maximize your abilities.
I’ve been thinking about purchasing one just for fun, but I can see how this would be good for a truck gun. How does it shoot?
i have the keltec sub2000 and that thing makes me feel like it is very small in my hands. i wish i had the gen 3 due to the handguard being able to rotate out of the way so that the optic can stay on it when folded, as the M&P you have stays upright because it folds a different way. I do like how the sub2000 is able to use the 32 rnd glock mags, and i can agree that it feels good having that much ammo in hand on such a small package… with me, im a rather larger guy so its undersized for me… I have t hought about getting a M&P myself so im interested in how you think it shoots and what you think overall. thanks for the short review.
I run a braced Ruger PC Charger for home defense for many of the same reasons. If you ask me, it’s more pointable and maneuverable than an AR pistol in a tight space, and if I’m in a tight space, I’m going to be much happier firing 9mm than being blinded and concussed by 5.56 out of a shorty. I’m 5’9" 175, and it fits me very well.
Mag and ammo compatibility with my two Daggers is a big plus as well.
A .300blk AR pistol tuned for subs could work, but I’m giving up mag compatibility and foldability for very comparable ballistics at self-defense ranges (less than 15m) with the massive downside of far more expensive ammo, especially for training. IMO, not worth it at all.
It’s tough to beat something that fits and just feels right. Train/shoot comps/take classes to vet it. I would recommend an optic a little closer to duty grade though if this will be a “go to” rifle.
