Howdy all, was just in the middle of taking my dagger apart to do some trigger work and noticed how difficult it was to get the roll pins out. Not complaining, in fact I like how solidly planted they are in the frame. My question is, being that there are roll pins in a polymer frame, approximately how many times can I remove and reinstall the pins before they get loose to the point of pin walk? Any info helps!
That is something I’m concerned about too. As well as the roll pins potentially wearing out the polymer pin holes. Never dealt with roll pins in polymer guns before, outside of a Ruger SR22, which that things pin walked out without even being removed before.
I was wondering about this also and just sort of hoped that I wouldn’t be stripping the frame that often. I’ve had it apart twice so far, one to replace the trigger and once to replace the ejector. Just be sure to use a roll pin punch to keep it centered on the pin.
Guys just use the search
at the top of the page.
This has been covered numerous times already.
The previous post will get you the answers you need. Enjoy your Dagger.
Howdy, 2 things:

I have used the search feature to try to anwser my question. Twice. First came before I ever made an account to post on the forums. Second came after you told me to look it up, assuming I missed something. 17 posts come up when searching “Roll pin” or “Roll pins” . 18 if you include my post (as of 1/22/23) . I’ve looked at the entirety of every topic that comes up when you search. I scoured the entire topic thread, not just the reply that mentioned roll pins. The closest thing I could find to an answer to my question was people talking about how they have had their pins out “a handful” of times. Now does “handfull” mean “I’ve had my pins out 50 times and they’re still planted in the frame as solidly as the were from the factory”? Or, does handful mean “I took the pins out 4 times and they’re loose to the point where I’m weary of a 5th disassembly”? The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but I would like to be safe. I’m probably worrying way too much about it, but I’d at least like a ballpark estimate.

Being that I (and presumably others) have the same question and have used the search feature to no avail, I would appreciate my fellow posters would actually help me answer the question at hand, not insult my (and the other people in this threads) intelligence by assuming they didn’t do the bare minimum.
Who know’s though, maybe I missed something.
Have a great day!
I don’t feel like anybody was calling you an idiot, there’s a nuance to your question that maybe doesn’t have a good answer yet. I think it was solid advise to use a proper roll pin punch. But as far as the whole number count, quite probably unknown and maybe a point to consider when dis/re-assembling meaning use appropriate caution when doing such. You’re question applies to the Rock platform as well. There were numerous questions and answers to to walking pins on the Dagger and if iirc was a problem on early models and since addressed. I think what you’re asking can only be answered over time. Some on here likely keep logs on such, so I’m guessing time will tell.
I’ve had mine out 51 times and no issues yet.
Edited to tone it down a bit. Didn’t mean for it to come off that way, sorry.

Sounds like I’m doing a whole lot of worrying about nothing.
It’s all good. I did feel like it was a valid question that maybe got mixed up with an earlier issue.
It was 4am and you where in the middle of taking the pins out, and your brand spanking new (1day) to the forum. I was attempting to assist you in finding a answer.
( Any info helps )!
Your words not mine
.
AMEN! Doesn’t matter how.many times it’s been asked, either answer it or scroll on past! STOP with the hall monitor crap
I say beat the piss out of the pins all you want. Take is apart put it back together in the desired config then do it again. If the hole bores out after a couple hammers through, pony up another $60 for a new frame and call it money well spent. I personally rebuild my set ups 3-5 times before a settle on a final dedicated build. Some times evem more. Every build is defferent. Plus I like trying new triggers, slides, and whatever other parts I feel like adding to complete the build. I can say this. Stick with the roll pins. I’ve tried using others and they do indead walk. The roll pins are the most secure in the Dagger platform. To be honest I’ve had more problems with the trigger pin than anything else, took a while to figure out how to get the slide release tension wire off the pin to be able to push it through. Even watched a guy on youtube who had the same issue take a couple hours to get that damn pin off. I was in the same bind till I worked that wire off the trigger pin, then it pushed right through.
