Does PSA have 16" Threaded Barrel Upgrades For AK-V & AR-V?

Per some new infringing attempt to make law from an unelected, non law-making federal agency, apparently, many of us may be on the market for longer barrels or 16" completed uppers. Particularly for an AK-V.

Something like this would be great, but PSA doesn’t seem to offer such options, or am I COMPLETELY missing something?

[sigh]

meh, all i know is what i bought was legal when it was purchased, and as such i’ll continue to operate knowing that what i bought was legal when i bought it.

im not advocating for anyone to break any laws, but there is a time that some folks will just have to be civilly disobedient. 'sides, as many of them things is out there, it’d be damn near impossible to enforce a ban on them.

The Second Amendment Foundation, joined by Rainier Arms, LLC and at least 1 private citizen, have already filed a lawsuit. I expect the rest of the big players in the industry to follow suit.

Also consider SHOT is this coming week and the whos who of the gun industry will be there.

Very true. Regarding SHOT, Taurus seems to be very active so far with their new TX22 Compact & their T.O.R.O. revolver options (605 & 856).

Should a person have the option for modifying an AK-V (hypothetically thinking…. For a friend) it would be preferred to use some PSA products for a PSA product.

Ak-V or a 104…both are fun with braces and stocks.

Well, except the NRA. But then, they’re probably too busy buying new $30k suits to notice the Rule Drop.

Is PSA considering legal action on this?

Considering the bump stock ban was just struck down…this ruling is hopefully and likely to meet the same fate.

I’m over it all. Weeks back when all the back and forth was going on. I literally went on a drunken tirade and took off all my baraces and burned every last one with my friend Jack Daniels. Pissed the wife off cause the backyard still smells like burnt plastic.

The one thing I have yet to find. If one were handicapped are they still legal without registering?

We will always be under the thumb of someone thinking they know whats best for society as a whole and therefore propose rules and regs on stuff we should and shouldnt have. Keep in mind would our forefathers condone such bs. I served this country for a long time and i am a law abiding citizen but i know where to draw the line.

The ATF says handicap are not affected by the new law. Read it earlier on Fox.

Thank you sir.

I read the same thing. However I doubt they went so far as to fully define what “handicapped” meant in this context. Thus -as usual- they’ve likely left enough open to interpretation to burn anyone as they see fit.

No doubt.

Rest assured that ATF will grandfather no one. I know some industry partners had a phone call last night. I imagine more than the 2AF lawsuit is going to get filed because it affects the ENTIRE industry.

Admittedly, guys, I’m a noob, so please bear with me on this…

So far, I still have not been able to find a 16" barrel replacement option in the PSA product line (again, unless I’m just completely missing it - which is a possibility). One solution that I think that I may have found is to have a 6" muzzle device pinned & welded onto the 10.5" AK-V barrel? I see that KAK Industries offers such a creature and was wondering if anyone has any experience with an option like this.

I would think that the better choice would be to have a 16" threaded barrel to retain the option of whatever preferred muzzle device would be best, but this beggar can’t be too choosy. :joy:

I see that PSA has a 16" threaded barrel option for the AR-V, but see that there seems to be a small fuss about it not being ramped even though it says that it’s ramped. (I don’t know).
Would something like this work on the AK-V as well, or is that a hard, “no”?

Thank you so much for the guidance, everyone! :grinning:

I have also seen on the forum here a post about a Faxon barrel…

I apologize for not being able to find who posted this yet and I can give them the credit for this idea when I find the post again.

Would something like this work to replace the barrel of an AK-V & AR-V?

This could be a fun opportunity to also explore something like the Soviet Arms handguard for the AK-V as well as changing the barrel. :grinning:
