I love this platform for home defense. Using a carbine in a defense situation is a great choice. Apparently at short distances, a 55-grain FMJ round will yaw or tumble when it impacts at close range. You definitely have to worry about penetration into the next room but this ballistic characteristic may rival using a 9mm hollow point round in a home.
