Just trying to help a brother out man.
I have had zero issues with email and return forms.
They always get back to me.
I’m experiencing it. My feed ramp came loose. I tightened it and it is still happening
Feedramp came loose?
What?
Yep after a mag or two
Yup, had thought that was my problem initially as well. So I used blue lock tight and secured the ramp back in place.
Ramp is no longer loose, but still has the ftc. Will probably go ahead and get ahold of psa Monday to
Start the process of shipping it back.
Had my reservations, but was talked into the ARV. Then when the ‘mp5’ styled barrel shroud dropped i pulled the trigger.
-o- shoulda went for the Evo I guess lmao.
Besides getting it fixed, get a riser for your red dot. That way you can get a proper cheek weld.
Have the riser. But I heard that since 9mm doesn’t arch the same as say 5.56, that a low mount was a better option?
I use a riser on mine. Its not that you can’t zero it, it’s about cheek weld. I could use a lower 1/3, absolute, or 1.93" high mount and still get it to zero.
I watched a Garand Thumb video with a Navy Seal guest. He used a pretty high mount for that very reason - to get a check weld without having to hunch over for it. Pretty eye-opening for me since I too thought a low mount would be the way to go.
I try and teach people with the same issue. There is no reason to crouch down to get the sight to line up. High mount all the way.
Same issues with my ARV as several others. Feed issues, had a OOB ignition, tearing up brass, bcg got stuck closed had to use my rubber mallet to free it. Been using top shelf ammo, different grain sizes but nothing works. Contacted PSA 4 days ago via email and again today but no response. 2+ hour wait times on phone so that’s not an option. I just want to ship this back, my bcg is all marred now from tearing up brass, and nicks in my upper around ejection port.
The email/phone traffic coming in this time of year to our customer service department is always very high. It may take a few days to hear back via email, but they will get to it to set up the return for a repair.
Did you lube it well? That has been the solution to a majority of the issues I have seen.
Yes I lubed it tremendously as I thought this might be the problem in the beginning but unfortunately it did not help at all. What I have been reading is that the buffer tube and spring are undersized for this. I also discovered yesterday my feed ramp jiggling yesterday and tightened it so that might have led to some of the issues but it must have worked it way loose and was not the original issue. Ammo used was Norma 124 grain FMJ match, CCI 115 grain FMJ and Winchester 115 grain FMJ so far. All good ammo and I use these for all my handgun target ammo without any issues ever.
Rookie here - I’ve been having issues with non-PSA mags, specifically the ETS and the MagPul ones, where the feed ramp seems to be the issues - for the first round, or even upon clearing, the next round - causing the rounds to go vertical (bullet end up). No issues with PSA mag that was included.
Would welcome any ideas!
The magpul mags have issues in Scorpions and AR-Vs. I stick solely with PSA mags and don’t have any issues.
I have a new arv I haven’t shot yet… are loose feed ramps a common issue? Should they be preemptively hit with a little blue loc tite?
