They want the serial numbers and the tax stamp money. And with what’s come out in the last day or so, we now know that they have the serial numbers in their searchable, digitized, database. Almost a billion of them in their illegal registry…
There’s 3 reasons I didn’t build an SBR.
I didn’t want to wait. State laws make carrying a loaded rifle on or in a motorized vehicle virtually impossible, including off highway vehicles, and I didn’t want to ask permission to take my rifle across state lines. I shouldn’t have to ask permission, ever.
I’m dont think I know about this point system, what’s that about?

If you read the fine print, even if you score less than 4 and burn your brace, the AFT still reserves the “right” to determine your pistol an SBR

SB and KAK are the two big brace makers. But I don’t even see how KAK can get out of this. I hope the gun industry goes together to fight this, one company may not have enough $$ to do it by themselves.

Unless the AFT determines after the fact that even though it scored under 4 points, it’s still an SBR

Here’s the issue
I have zero concerns that the GOA, FPC and others won’t immediately file suit against a corrupt enforcement agency that chooses to bypass Congress and write their own legislation
However, barring an injunction it will be enforceable while it plays out in the courts
So win or lose down the road in the courts for the AFT, they will expect to get the majority of the “illegal SBRs” registered and pocket their $200 per in the mean time. And if they don’t like the registration numbers that they’re seeing, they will track down and make examples out of people who haven’t complied. I will bet that the AFT will seek out some high profile people to charge in order to make waves and get their illegal registration scheme back on track.
They have the new online registration system in place that the suppressor industry was so excited for… Whether it crashes and burns like every website the government launches doesn’t matter. The AFT doesn’t care, time is on their side. This will take years to sort out, and when they start prosecuting honest people, people facing 10 years and a quarter million dollar fine for their formerly legal firearm, it will get a lot of attention.
The AFT has asked for a one time 1.5B dollar budget increase, right now. This will double their budget to 3B dollars…
Why do they need all that money? Why do they need it now? It should be obvious to anyone reading this

It’s not enforceable. There are millions of brace owners. The economy would collapse if they arrested brace owners. How many truck drivers, construction workers, police, etc. own braces?
I’m not worried at all. If anything, this might highlight the over reaching power of the ATF. My hope is that this dustup draws more people from the sidelines and into protecting the 2A.
