Hey everyone!
Just looking for suggestions for basic handgun instruction in the Lowcountry. Doesn’t necessarily have to be CWP. I’m aware of the PSA options, but what else is out there? Also open to private/individual or small group instructions. There are some listings on google, but some seem to be old. I’m interested in personal experience or first-hand knowledge of classes/individuals.

This looks incredible. Would have to spend at least one night for the CWP–some of the other classes are on weeknights, though. Still looks very professional–these guys look like they have it together. Thanks!
The NRA offers a number of course on line and in person. You can search their website for what is offered by zip code and distance.
Don’t rule out local competitions. Show up, be safe and ask questions. No disgrace in coming in last place as long as you learn something.
Online would be a great supplemental learning option. Going to check that out as well.

Just as a follow up, I checked out this outfit locally here in the Charleston area. It’s pretty much the one fellow–seems to be fairly experienced and knowledgeable. I sent an email question through their website form (mainly to see whether he would read/respond) and he called me within 5m. Seems that he really knows his stuff and has good reviews. He’s got classes for the next several Saturdays.
Also, lots of positive personal reviews from 2024, including the past few weeks.
Follow up: I took the course last week. Emil Mejia is the instructor. Great course–covered the important and required topics, including test material. Offered fingerprinting service (fee) and helped package up all the paperwork including 2 sets of prints to send off to SLED. Session included time at the local indoor range and instruction/testing, which I thankfully passed. I can recommend this course and instructor–he’s a good guy. Helped that on that particular Saturday, only one other person was in the class with me.
